[QUOTE=horsepower]Our prototype knock sensor'd LS2 402 (gen III knock sensors and FULL function on a gen IV LS2 block) is on the dyno right now; I'll update as soon as we're sure it works/proves out...it is really slick
/QUOTE]
I'm going to guess that you where able to either adapt the GEN III sensors to work in the LS2 locations or that you are able to mount them in the valley.

Also, please post details on the Gen III KS setup, even if it doesn't prove itself, that way everyone will know exactly what has already been tried.
Anxiously awaiting further details,

Guys, I have three 402 LS2's going together now and we are looking at ways to address this. The problem is that the LS2 circuitry is specifically "tuned" to the knock threshold and frequency at that location on the LS2 block. The LS1 location has a different frequency and amplitude and the physical circuitry in the PCMs are different.
As Slowhawk said, if your tuner is worth the price you pay it is a non-issue. But I realize that the knock sensors provide a level of comfort so we will find a way around it.
I should have an update for you mid Feb when the 402's are on the engine dyno

Guys -
Been out of town, but back into the LS2 now. We are shipping 402 LS2s right now, for those that can't wait on the knock sensors.
Our knock sensor version is on the dyno now, just waiting for a cam - we are also developing some new cams and evaluating the AFR 225s, so a few things in the works.
I will report on the results once available. In the mean time, 402 iron blocks and 402 LS2 aluminum packages are IN STOCK, shipping.
Thanks,
Brian

Just an FYI, this will work on the right side but not the left when using Kooks or any Groty style header. I drilled and tapped another location for the left side. Not sure about any other header systems....
