The jury is still out on wether or not they can beat the gas guzzler tax.

Rumormill says 16/25, but at this point there's nothing official. As slt200mph pointed out, DH and crew have stated that they are trying to beat the gas guzzler tax, so it may end up better than that. Only time will tell...

Whats the "limit" for gas guzzler tax? Got got something in the mail from GM on the z06, new c6, and the GTO with the LS2. It rates it at 16/25.

The highway mileage has to be better than 23mpg on the highway for there to be no gas guzzler tax.

Well not to be a dick. But if you got the anywhere from 65k to 75k for a 500hp sport's car. i don't think I would worry about Gas Guzzler tax or mileage.

That can't be true because the GTO, when equipped with the automatic transmission requires payment of the gas guzzler tax. The EPA gives the GTO w/auto an average fuel economy of 16 city; 21 highway.

Like mentioned earlier, I think anyone who is able to afford one, most likely wouldnt worry about the gas guzzler tax. Hell, Id buy one cash, if my family wouldnt kill me for blowing a huge chunk of my inheritance!

ive read consistently that they indeed get 19/28 (same as fbods). Almost every magazine has stated that, and they have also stated that it has NO gas guzzler tax. it was a big deal for this car.

Sorry, but a 500hp 427 will not get the same mileage as a 350hp 346.

unless of course 6th gear has a 0.20 gear ratio. EPA doesn't mean a damn thing.
