Default C6 w/ stock exhaust = 406RWHP

Wanted to say thanks to Patrick G, Tony Mamo, and Predator Z for taking the time to help me. I'm new to the LSX world, and they answered every question.

Mods:

AFR 205s (.40cometic), Cheatr cam 215/232 117 LSA, Honker intake and tuning. 406RWHP - 379RWTQ SAE. The car has a perfect idle, gets better gas mileage, and doesn't surge/buck. It feels great to add 60RWHP and not have to deal with any of the negatives....

Xstang is your car auto or 6-speed? That is awesome. Have you taken it to the track yet? I have a DSOM Z51 6 sp coupe.

My car is a MN6 1SX/Z51.... Haven't gone to the track yet because it is almost 100 degrees every day here in Tx.... Once the weather cools down, I'll make a few passes.

Stock exhaust, I'm assuming down to the manifolds.

Guess this is one of those cases where you add the appropriate exhaust system
adn you add near 50rwhp...

I took my C6 to kennedale last night and turned a 8.35 at 87 mph on a 2.02 60' in the heat, its all stock with a tune.

Nice stealthy setup, I have thought about something similar for my Z. Do yourself a favor and stick an old school LS6 intake manifold on there (search to see if it is adirect bolt on).

Is there a big advantage of going with the LS6 over the stock LS2?

They posted some 10-15 RWHP gains over on gearchatter.com . LS2 intake sucks. LG picked up a solid 20 RWHP on thier G5x cammed LS2.

Will the 90mm throttle body work on the ls6 intade? I guess you could always stealth a fast 90.

I'm suprised at what the C6's dyno. There are C5's with just Afr heads/haltech stinger making 400+rwhp on stock exhaust. You'd think the extra displacement would help out some. The torque #'s don't seem all that impressive either.

it dynoed 422/394 i believe.

but sounds and drives like stock.

Where's the 6.0l torque though. I'd hope that with a fast 90/90 and pacesetters the 6.0l would dyno 450rwhp and 430+ ft.lbs. The LS2 intake must really be holding the C6's back.

well it doesnt seem to be holding my 408 back. the numbers in my sig are with 45 miles on the motor and im still running a lil fat up top. And the cam in mine is smaller than most of the 408s with the fast 90/90.

246/250 112.....

i dont think the LS2 is as much a power robber as most people think.

Awesome power xstang. I knew the combination would be killer in your C6. Now you know how it goes, you're going to get the mod bug again sometime soon. In my opinion, the next must do mod is a FAST 90mm intake to compliment your 90mm TB. I would expect you'd pick up at least 20 rwhp, maybe more. Have Tony Mamo port it and port your stock 90mm TB and look for another 10-12 rwhp. 430 rwhp is very doable with your car and it will still drive just as stock as it does now. Congrats and major props.

I totally agree. I just put on the FAST yesterday and its day and night. I don't know why people keep denying the gains with that manifold when they are repeatedly confirmed. Trying convince themseves to save 800 bucks maybe. If you are running good it gets better, and thats a fact. Saying you have good power doesn't prove the manifold is worthless and the ls2 suks...period.

I'd be thrilled to run the FAST, not so thrilled to hack up the firewall to make it fit. Hopefully, FAST will update the design to fit the C6 soon.

So the fast intake has clearance issues on the C6? How about the long term performance of the Cheater cam, are the ramp speeds hard on the valve train, is there anyone that has put 30 or 40 thousand miles on one? I read one post where a Z06 with stock cam and afr's did over 400 rwhp. Has anyone done any porting on the ls2 intake to where it can match the ls6 intake at least?
