Default SDPC web page - no 402 short block here?

I have some old Lingenfelter ported LS6 heads shaved .055 from SDPC and I am currently considering their forged LS2 alumium 402 short block for $4K.

I don't see anything on their web page. --------->??

Is this a special order thing?

I assume their -12CC pistons are standard on the 402 and was wondering what compression I would end up with my old milled heads......

I justed checked their web page - they still sell these same heads - ported LS6 essembled castings shaved .055.

The combustion chamber size is 60.9 CC on this head....

So with -12 CC pistons in a 402 and a standard gasket thickness, what compression would this run?

Pump gas friendly?

Thanks.

Sorry about the 402 not being on our web page. Long story short it should be, but I just havn't taken the time to make it happen. Our 402 has a std option of a -2cc flat top or a -14cc dish piston. With an .051 thick head gasket, and the -14cc dish piston your compression would be 10.7 to 1. If we went down o a .040 thick gasket your compression will be 10.9.

This would be a very pump friendly motor & with the correct cam shaft would make great power and torque. We can supply you with everything down to the last gasket. Please let pm, email, or call me with any questions!!

Thanks KJ:
I am running a 220/220, 560/560, 112 cam in my 5.7 stock short block now. I like this cam because it has lots of low end, idles well and does not eat up valve springs.

Can you recommend a similar street cam for the 402? (New York finally killed the emmisions sniffer so it is a PCM only test for me now)

Are these new short blocks on the self?

Thanks

i just ordered my block from SDPC about a week ago recieved it in 5 days i had the 224/224 581 114 in my old block and was happy with it due to smog in Cal. when i went to the 402 i got a 226/226 112 just a little bigger again because of smog but i think (hope) it will do the job. you can have SDPC install your cam too.

the more cubic inches the more cam it will like, but as in any situation with higher dur. #'s your cam will start pulling at a higher RPM. In my opinion I would use a 228/236 @ .050 or even a 228/228. We keep both in stock and have noticed nice hp and torque #'s with them in our 402's.

As for keeping our short blocks on the shelf, well we try. To be honest with you it seems we are shipping them as fast as there built. If you were to order today though, you wait would be short. Two weeks max!

Please let me know if I can help!!

Kris is great to work with, I'd recommend getting the 402 from him without hesitation. He made a completely customized long-block for me, and gave me a great deal on all the extra parts to boot. We just put it in the car, hope to have it running soon.

Thanks again, Kris!

Thanks Kris.

I'm sure I'll be needing something more; If not for the Formula, then for when we drop the LS1 into my 91 Camaro RS.

You da man!!
