Default LS7 Engine Accesories

Does anyone have the part numbers for the accesory brackets on an LS7? I want to use the factory alternator, P/S pump and tensioner and the factory parts always fit best. Please include the part number for the accessories if available. Local dealer sucks unless you have part numbers - "we don't do research".

Also - has anyone been able to purcahse a 2006 parts CD and service manual for Corvettes? I contact Helm in the fall and they said it was in development and would send a post card when available.

The C5 accessories will bolt right up. Just get a hold of Chris at SDPC (one of our sponsors!) and he'll hook you up with the right parts at an awesome price!

Not too sure about that. The LS7 crank snout is longer (per PHR) and the dual pulley is also unique. Maybe the unique pulley makes up for the longer snout and it all works out. Has anyone actually tried this and did they use an LS set up from a C5 or C6 or F car? The C5/6 stuff is also different than F car.

Should be fine with the C5 stuff.. John did some test fits himself. We have all the LS1 acc to do it on ours, but are holding off to install the chrome and billet stuff that we ordered from S&P instead..

Mark, you must have missed this post https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-external-engine/410152-1st-pics-c5-accessory-drive-ls7.html

After further review, the only questionable item is the idler tensioner. The 2004 & up C5/6 water pumps appear to have the bosses machined about 0.070" closer towards the block and a different idler is used on these motors. I have one of these on order to verify final installation.

You are correct in your assumption that the LS7 harmonic balancer is offset to accomodate the longer snout yet line up with existing hardware So, yes the C5 and C6 accesory drive will line up with the factory LS7 harmonic balancer. No, the F-Body accessory drive will not line up... nor will the truck drive. Yes, it been tried and proven... and yes there are LS7's running around in C5's and C6's with their corresponding factory GM accessory drives.

Hey John,

Let me know what you find out about this- I'm planning on using the LS2 waterpump, and my A/C bracket was designed and built around a 1999 Corvette waterpump and tensioner. Thanks!

OK guys, here's the scoop......

On the LS2 waterpump, the tensioner mounting ears are ~.115" closer to the engine block face than the earlier LS1 pumps. I bought a new LS2 pump and compared it to my LS1 pump myself. Now I have to make spacers for my tensioner to bring it back to where it needs to be for the 1999 Corvette accessory drive system that I have. The good news is the waterpump pulley itself is 1 7/8" shorter (closer to the block) than the LS1 pump. That leaves more room for the electric fan on my S-truck!

I am running all f-body accessory brackets on my LS2. Since I am swapping out the dampner for an Fluidampner and the H2O pump for an electric unit it's no problemo.. I like the compact nature of the f-body configuration.
