Without punching a calculator, I am not sure what a 412 is. Most of the sponsors seem to have a 402 AL block, or a 408 FE block, ready to roll. Those you can have with any combination of mild to wild components...and in a week to three, depending on the builder.

Is there a particular reason you are looking at 412ci?

sounds like you need to use the search feature and call some sponsors to see what they will offer for what $$$$.

do you know the bore/stroke combo for a 412?

I'm using:

- LS2 block 4.0005 bore
- Eagle 4.100 crank
- CompStar 6.125 rods
- Wiseco Pistons

Topped off with AllPros heads.

The motor has been quite reliable so far, but has only 4K on it and about 60 passes. I have stayed NA but I'm sure it would be fine with some spray.

In all reality the cubic inch delta will not produce a large horsepower difference.

i agree totally! if you are making 2bhp per ci then you will make about 20bhp more! oh and thats asuming all the efficencies are the same!

20 hp is 20 hp ill take all i can get ,for a $90.00 bore job. it hard getting 20 hp out of a big cub. motor for 90.00 ,motors that's had every little bit of hp squeezed out of it with every mod know to man, with cams ,heads ,intakes, computer tuning, n.o.s., turbos, blowers, so all i can think of is got bigger cubs. or as much as a man can afford. What do you think ?????

I heard somewhere that a 4.100 crank puts alot more stress on the rods.

It might on a stock length rod ,But shouldn't as bad on a longer rod like a 6.125" because that it don't come out of the bore as much (binding up in the cylinder) and with aftermarket rod like a H beam there made for the extra stress.
