The new Hot Rod magazine has an article on the new Warlock block in a section about the best new products of 2006. They said that the first castings were given to a select few in January. IIRC, they said that somebody was already preparing a 2,000 hp turbo motor with the block. So I guess that they are ready for production/distribution, they are just waiting to make sure there are no massive problems or potential failures.

I have three blocks on order. I'll be building two normally aspirated engines and one nitrous motors and all will have the LS7X heads. All engines will be dynoed and I'll be happy to share any data that once complete. All engines will be going into sand cars...

Have you figured what the machining costs on top of the block price.
What main caps and bolts are they using.
I believe this block will need to be blueprinted to run,and that gets expensive.
I still like the ls2 427
Any price comparisions?

John,
These blocks come with top quality billet C5R caps and ARP studs (included in the price, not an option). From what I understand they just need a finish hone and they are ready to run. Yes they will be a few more $ over an LS2, but not much more and for that little extra expense it looks like you'll be getting a lot for your money.

Glad to see some still enjoy a NA motor To me, raw naturally aspirated horsepower motors are very impressive !! Seems everyone likes to go to the power adder route to run fast. For me....I'd rather do it N/A !!

Keep us informed on the progress with the motors and if you feel generous send one my way and I'll campain it in the "Ram Racing Naturally Aspirated Heads up Series" East coast Series this year

I like N/A power as well, you just have to live with going much slower than the power adder people.

With these new blocks I think the NA numbers will be going much lower than than we have seen out of the factory blocks. I'm looking forward to seeing a max effort big cube n/a motor lay down some sick numbers at the track.

I have nothing against the power adder guys. I'm a Pro Stock fanatic deep down and love to see N/A motors do there thing at the races.

I don't see any reason why I can't get 750 HP from this block and heads combo... I could be wrong but I'm gonna find out. All my N/A motors will have ultra light weight rotating assemblies... Well, as light as I can make them while still supporting the HP numbers. You need a quick revving engine for a dune car so that's what I'm going to build. All nitrous motors will be 1000 plus HP...

Stay tuned

The Warhawk block is light years ahead of a sleeved LS2 or a stock LS7... <(From talking to people in the know and reading every freakin' thing I can get my hands on) Just give it some time to come out and some engines built... I'm expecting big things from this platform.

Good luck with the motors ! Sounds like they will be a blast in the sand cars. I've never seen one in person but they sure look like a boat load of fun to drive.

How much are they though, $80,000+, they don't have anything to do with any engine brought up in a forum like this. Plus, look at their rpm's, and they need methane to run.

But still, a turbo'ed LS1/2/6/7 will kill an F1 engine in the power department. Utterly KILL it.

i was saying that it depends what you are putting an engine in, not the engine itself!!!!! 500kg and 250bhp will scare the **** out of you around a track!

to put that into english, na motors are great in light rwd cars that go around corners! most race drive prefer the dilivery of N/A so thats screewed the other statement about dilivery! unless you have 4DW or your drag racing turbos can be a b!tch! they kick in unprodictably mid corner and are harder to judge part throttle.

thsi does not mean that i still dont love them!!!! lol

yeah you can make more power with nearly twice the didplacment and FI i never said you couldn't! (see above disscription of original statemnt)

and for a 2005 spec engine you would be looking at wel over $80K! you would be spending that on a couple of rebuilds! lol

anyway back to topic. these things are ace and can't wait to see what power people can get out of these things!

Chris.

Default Block will be $4000 and heads $1100 (fully assembled)

The current Hot Rod Magazine (April '06 pg 88) has a great write up!

For $5500 you will get a base engine that has more potential then the C5R for less then 40% of the cost!!! Made of 357-T6 aircraft alloy, available in stock deck height of 9.240 inches or 9.800 inch, which will make a true 454ci small block, w/ 4.125 inch bore & 4.25 inch stroke crank! WOW!

If you are into building big HP, this will be a MUST! And it is built much better then the C5R block (that's over $7K)! World Products KNOW what the heck they are doing too! Granatelli is building a twin turbo monster with over 2300 hp! The block has provisions for 6 bolts per cylinder....look out fastest LS1/2 honors!

WOW, 1000hp+ for under $7K! (Fully machined block $4000, assembled heads $1100, + $1800 misc parts = $6900!!!)

I may have to find an old car to stuff this monster into.....

Will a carb style intake be offered for the tall deck without using spacers?

the heads are 1100 each so 2400 + 4000 for block + 2500 for rotating assem. + 500 for special componets that only work with this block + 1000 for misc stuf and you come up with 10,400, but it is still a great setup.
