Has anyone had dealings with "The Turnkey Engine Supply". I am interested in their LS2 510 HP.
Their Quality of work???
Their Service????
They appear to have a complete, ready to install, turn-key product. (no joke intended)
ThanKs

i have i would not suggest them their products are not bad i just feel there not all their cracked up to be. i bought the 450hp ls1/ls6 and took it to mti to see what #'s i put down i pulled 315 to the rear wheels i was pretty disappointed. There engines are reliable in their defense i havent had any problems with mine yet to date however i had to drop another 3,000 to get it closer to the actual 450. heads cam etc. The motor also was pretty much turnkey with the exception of exhaust manifolds and starter. There motors are reliable from my experience but did not deliver the performance i expected. i am not bashing them just relaying my experience i also know they use speed density tuning so u can take what i said and make your own decision i think u would be better getting a motor from texas speed and be closer to the performance you want. i spent 7,000 on their 450 hp then another 3,000 to get it to 437 just recently so i hope this helps your decision. good luck

These are the HP numbers with the engines stripped of all accessories on the dyno's. It's still probably 50hp better then stock....but that's it.
A stock LS1 stripped makes 408-410hp, and the LS2 is closer to 500.
Once you add accessories and all that junk it robs HP from the motor.
They rate them without all the accessories OUT of the engine bay.
GM rates them IN the engine bay.
This is why prior to 1972 the HP numbers were so high. After 1972 they rated the engines power as it SAT in the engine bay, not on a dyno. It's why today's Hemi's can smoke the yesteryears Hemi's. The 60's 426 hemi had 425HP, well the new 6.1L Hemi would murder it. Hell even an LS2 would probably kill it. Different rating system. They're deceptively using the engine only power ratings like they did back then. Most engine places do......GM Crate motors don't though. They're rated the same as "In Car".
This is why teh ZZ454 is rated for 440Hp, but once you get them off the crate they pull 500HP easy on a dyno........cuz it's stripped of accessories still.

[QUOTE=chuntington101]Zero30, whats wrong with speed density tuning??
i thought it was prefferable and gave more acurate readings esp on FI applications!
Hey bro i didnt say there was anything wrong with the speed density tuning i just stated that is the type of tuning they use and maybe thats what they base there power numbers using that tuning.

Sounds like you got significantly ripped off. And after you dyno'd 315hp, you didn't go complain about that to them? Ask for your money back, or even sue them?
At least now you can warn other people, still an expensive venture though.

when i bought the engine they told me i would have to use my existing ecm because theirs was preprogrammed using SD so they told me that it would it would not be a problem and would hook up to my ecm and it fired up right away then would stall and die until i took it to MTI and dropped another 500 to get it to behave.
