Here's a good explanation:

Vacuum Impregnation is an advanced modern porosity sealing technique. The process effectively tests and seals leaks in castings. By sealing porosity, impregnation can also extend machining tool life, particularly in powder metal parts.

The procedure is used for sealing microporosity in metal castings, powder metal parts, electronic components, plastic composites, and other porous substrates. A special advanced technology sealant fixes the leaks and seals the internal porosity.

Bore 4.125
Stroke 4.000

Nothing will be "lacking", it's we've just selected some good parts at a reasonable price.
So it'll be able to take a good blast of spray like a 250 progressive shot.

Also, which block will you be using for the 4.125 bore?

.

I'll let you know once we finalize a piston choice.

It will be a Katech sleeved LS2.

on,

Couple of thoughts...

What exactly does "balanced and blueprinted" mean? I've heard this term for years and years, and never really thought twice about it. Balancing a rotating assembly, sure, makes sense. Blue printed? Please explain what these two terms mean to a Katech customer.

$3500 for new bearings, gaskets, and there will be basically no machine work invloved? That sounds pretty steep, IMO. Granted, there is plenty of overhead that you guys are faced with (nice shop pics, btw), but this doesn't seem like a very intensive job - basic rebuild (emphasis on RE-build). Maybe there is more to this rebuild, but am I way off base for expecting something 2k cheaper? With that in mind, people buying from Katech probably want someone overqualified to do the job and will gladly pay those prices. From the sounds off it, you guys have a specific niche in the market, just like MTI does nowadays (driveout packages). With that in mind, disregard this second questions and just answer the first, please .

Hopefully this doesn't come off as an attack - just a observation/question.

Ryan

Jason -- For the above packages I assume you meed a complete LS7 as opposed to just the block and heads? Could one have an LS7 block and heads dropshipped to you guys and have you assemble it with all the goodies (minus intake, accs, etc)?

Why not do a budget 427 based on the LS7 block? Has to be a ton less machine work on a block that does not require sleeves.

Thanks,

-N

-How are we going to run it on the dyno?

-Our budget sleeved LS2 (without Katech main caps), TBA soon, will be cheaper than the LS7 block.

I'm not sure I understand your question. I was asking specifically if your LS7 packages are meant for those who primarily have full LS7s ie a C6 Z06, or if they are meant for those of us who would be willing to supply a block and heads only.
