Generally power is in the heads and the tune. Go with the AFR 225s or ETP or a good ported LS6...

Actually no my first set of heads i was using from them on just my head cam package was cool, i have had a pleathora of problems with these heads at the time i had no extra bank so had to roll with them I even had to send them back to profiler to get fixed for issues then come to find out the only rockers that could be run on these heads was Jesel J2K ($1,400) I thought about getting my money back on the heads since they were still unused at the time but he skated all around the issue and would not think of giving me my money back. But he sure as hell was quick to charge me. And what stings even worse was when i was running his first set of heads and they did pretty good i was his biggest backer, now i could give a **** less about him.

jjw3477 ,
Damn, I was going to put in an order for a LPE 403 late last year but held off. I was recently returning to the thought because I'm getting tired of the Warhawk wait.
I'm hoping Warhawk numbers can be put out soon with some good end results in reliability and tuning/build characteristics.

dont be thrown off by these numbers with the right heads and cam this package is sure to make into the 500's easy, just need a set of good flowing heads. Not bricks of aluminum.

i seriously doubt this is a bottom end problem. LPE is solid when it comes to building their short blocks. this seems to be a head/cam problem. with that much lift shouldn't the duration be more in the 250-260 range?
ive got a LS2 403 sitting in my garage, not built by LPE but by someone else that is now working for a pro stock shop here in texas. he & the shop will be doing my cylinder heads, custom profile on the cam that is the most efficient based upon head flow and cubes. they will do the complete long block, install and tune too. in my conversations with him, he said heads, cam and intake make the power. LS short blocks have been machined, assembled, balanced and blue printed the same way for the last 7 years. cylinder head flow designs and cam profiles are what is constantly changing.

at this point we are looking at making power by swaping out the heads, thanks to Ed, and the tune is still in question as to what direction to go.

Jon,
Caught you for a short time Friday, but could not get free to see whats up. Before you get too far you need to see whats up with the oil pressure unless I missed something here that it is okay now. Also, if that one front oxygen sensor is reading 0 again and it is dumping fuel there is either something wrong in the harness or mechanically has a vacuum leak making her read lean on one side of the engine. Let me know.
