Haven't seen this mentioned yet... but the l92/l76 heads/intake will be in the new Pontiac G8... Most of you probably knew that though.

From what I've personally seen, they are the 5364 castings. Don't know that there's any difference between casting number or not... but just sharing my information.

So ive read the entire 19 page thread and I know that I can for these heads on the LQ4 block. Im looking for a good streetable motor with plenty of hp and torque. I like the looks of the car intake, but if the truck intake will get me more usable tq why not go with that? What would you fellas suggest?

Yes, over stock LS3s, yes a bit over well ported LS3s and yes on hp over well ported LS3s. Maybe little torque over well ported LS3s and they let you use the LS7 intake which is superior to the LS3. Be careful of the 1.8 LS7 intake rockers.

Call SDPARTS.COM, they'll fix you up. Be sure you take the block and new cap to a machine shop and have them align hone the crankshaft centerline assembly so it will be right.

I've been doing a lot of research on this topic and some times i feel like dropping the L92 heads and all it's valve events and just go with my initial plans of aftermarket cathedral port style heads, and be done with it.

I'm making enough power from my 243 ported, valve job, Manley valves Heads. with the rest of the typical bolt ons, and ported this and ported that, yada,yada,yada...

But with all the R & D that VA Speed, Richard from WCCH, and Kevin investing all the Time And Money into these heads have made me a true believer that GM Was / Is making a dynamite product that the average Joe can make great power on the cheap...

The more i get involve with my project I realize the full potential of the L92 heads right out of the box they are flowing enough to feed my habit, but there is always room for improvement.

Most everyone is going or has gone with gen IV engine setups on thier F-bodies or C5s.

Here are some results.

Default after much research i found a great deal!!!

been looking for L92 or LS3 heads that flow and dont break the bank, so i found this company in California CPR or Custom Performance they sell bare CNC ported castings for less than it would cost to buy a set from GM and have them ported. The numbers are impressive, not only max lift (everyone goes by max lift not knowing that higher mid lift numbers will make more HP)

heres what i found:

NEW CASTINGS - .450 decks~!
I --- E
.300 - 229 - 174
.500 - 327 - 240
.650 - 370 - 257
.700 - 377 - 260

Im looking to bolt a set on my soon to be built 416 bottom end! This should be good for 650-680 N/A HP at the crank! Im stoked!

$950 is a deal for the PAIR!

Any advise?

Their facebook is www.NOT-A-SPONSOR.com.org.gov.net, they list CPRparts.com as their site but don't have any LSx stuff there.

They're local to me, certainly worth checking out as a replacement for my 243 heads.

The 821 casting on the 2010 camaro is not the same as an L-92 head of the past.
The ports are not the same. LS-3 and L-92 heads are not the same ports as everyone thinks.
Theres more than just a difference in valves etc.

GM has changed the part numbers several times and along the way the porting changed. I think they may have dropped the L-92 ports now and only make the LS-3 ports now.

With 4 or 5 part number changes its hard to tell when this happened exactly.
