Changed engine from LS1 to LS2 "problems"

Default Changed engine from LS1 to LS2 "problems"

I just recentally changed my engine from the Ls1 to the LS2 and i am currently having a few little problems . Anyone have anyclue why my Stock RPM gauge is not working after doing this conversion ? what could it be not making my RPM gague worK ? another thing is i havent droven the car yet , now the other thing is what is the chances of the MPH not working either ? please get back at me and let me know , thanks alot ...

RPM and VSS are from different sensors and pins on the PCM.
But it sounds like your wiring is suspect somewhere. You might want to get a wiring diagram and do some traces to check all your connections etc.

If the tachomoter is not working it could be cam sensor not wired (or switched) correctly. Did you buy an aftermarket harness for this? Have confirmed if you speedometer is working or just assuming?

Isnt the Cam sensor on the LS2 in back were the LS1 was in front??

You have it reversed. LS2 cam sensor in the front timing cover and LS1 is on the rear top by the back of the valley cover.

I had this problem when I did my LS2 conversion, it was the cam sprocket that was wrong, causing the cam sensor not to pick up the signal correctly, causing the tach not to work and not starting very easy.

I would start with the cam sensor and wires, then if that is all correct, double check the sprocket part number, you can do a search for this and you will find my thread

Its A Complete Crate Engine And Yes There Is An Aftermarket Harness Extension For The Front Under The Timing Cover , But I Dont See For A Crate Engine How That Could Affect The Rpm Gague

Looks like I'm having the same problem...so even using the "racetronix" plug-n-play harness this is a problem? Would it be something HP Tuners could change because of the different cam sensors?

Did you just flip the wires on the Cam sensor or what? Thanks!
