HOw much drivetrain loss are you expecting when you put it in the z28? Nice numbers from SAM!

Ben, drivetrain will be moderate, going in the black z28 that has a th-350, so expect 15% loss, still will put down a little over 600rwhp on pump

I am with you, I expected more.

Good nujmbers, just for a frame of reference. Didn't LG motorsport hit just under 630rwhp and 555rwtq with a 427 LS7 using heads with ported exhaust port only and non ported intake on a non-max effort arrangement?

GregFell has ported LS7 head and intake combination to produce just over 360CFM of combined flow on the intake side.

This 703hp/655tq would be around 615RWHP/575rwtq.

So how much timing do you have left in the tune before you start running into detonation?

With these numbers and being this is the initial pulls to make sure everything is working correctly I'm guessing you've got the timing at a conservative state.

Which Headers are you planning on using once you stuff this 500 under the hood of that 4th gen?

Great job on a mild build. A pump gas, smooth idle and 703 NA and 922 nitrous with all that torque would be a blast as a sleeper. How much of a restriction is the stock intake and throttle body ?
The GM pump gas 572 ci with a similar cam is rated at 620 HP and 650 torque @ 4500 and weighs a ton. The 270ish solid roller with 714 lift, 12:1, race gas 572 with all the good stuff is only rated at 720 HP, so you guys have done well on 500 ci. GM's ZZ 502 doesn't even compare.
Definetly post the graph and updates. The off idle torque and Hp on this set-up must be insane.

i think this is a killer showcase and is great that shops/schools are still pushing the envelope of the lsx platform.

sure its not that impressive compared to massive solid roller race 427 ls7 motors but still. that was not the goal. at this powerlevel i bet you can get years of enjoyment.

A_W_O_L.

Doesn't matter if the LG Motorsport was a 6 speed. What I was saying
is that the 625 or so rwhp and 550rwtq that the 427 put out was equal to about 710HP and 625 TQ at the engine. The LG motorsport was not a "max-effort" engine.

That 500CI built, that the 700HP and 655TQ sound great, but that more is possible even with good street driveability. Not perfect, and not emissions, but good street driveability.

The LG Motorsport was with a hydraulic cam, very near stock compression and heads which were quoted to be ported on the exhuast only.

GregFell is pushing a new envelope with a porte head and LS7 ported intake doing 360CFM for the combined unit.

So that with the 500CI, it might be possible, that someone will tweak it that much further and without going to the absolute limit, put out 775-825HP.

All I was saying, not trying to knock anyones work.

Later.

Default comparing a 427 to a 500ci

Does anyone doubt that cam for cam and intake for intake, that the 500ci wouldn't stomp *anyones* 427 in just about any contest other than gas mileage? Also, it's pretty easy to cam it up even more on pump gas, but the owner is going to have to choose the powerband to suit his car and usage. I've heard the torque number at 3200rpm. The dyno graph will be posted soon, so everyone start digging up what torque a 625whp 427 makes at that rpm

LG is likely on the list of dealers for this engine anyway. The dealers are being picked by their reputation for service after the sale and good technical experience.
