I think you find the graph of this motor has very wide torque band.
It is not a peaky HP motor.
I am sure if this is a wet sump or dry sump.
The LG motor was a Dry Sump.
Also I would not compare power made at 6,100 rpm's to 7,000.
Throw a .680-.700 solid roller in this....

hey, Buy American!
About the only large group of ls7 dynographs I found were on LG's site. They posted around 6 LS7 graphs with header/cam swaps. All were making in the 540-550 whp range except the "625whp" one. I googled that further and apparently "exhaust port work, electric water pump, and some special LG touches" made up the additional 75whp. I guess drysumping could be considered a special touch, but I didn't see that additional "feature" posted anywhere I looked. Where did you see that? The other two items add up to about 15whp at the most. Nice to see that LG 1 3/4 headers will support that power though!

It's always the average HP and torque that gets the job done, since no trans. can keep the motor at peak #'s. The engine masters challenge always uses averages to compare engines.
This is a wet sump, pump gas street motor. Hats off to everyone at S.A.M. to show a real life street build before going race fuel, 15:1, solid roller.......

Crazy cool . Think the intake manifold will be cooler since it will be lifted off the motor??
Make mine a 471" with the 4.200" bore and 4.25" crank and a 250°/260° cam with say .625"/.640" and 110° LSA .

Doing some quick math. The avg. NA torque between 4100 - 6400 is 625 ft/lbs. and the HP is 624. That's definetly a wide powerband and I don't think anyone would notice if you missed a shift point. The 703 peak Hp was still creaping up at 6400. That would have put you in the top 5 against the fully built 509" big blocks in the 2005 engine challenge even with a stock intake, etc.. Most of those motors have little to no oil pressure and are on the verge of detonating to make it through a few dyno pulls. I would say your first baby step was pretty good.
