Default bought an LS2

I bought an LS2 long block from a friend's dad who works at a dealership. it is very low mileage but has a spun main bearing

the price was right so I bought it without any vehicle to put it in lol.

theres some pictures.

Now I've never looked at any genIII/IV engine up close. Im only familiar with LT1s. this engine came with a bunch of sensors in it. can anyone tell me what these are? I have pictures with the sensors circled and numbered.

I have another one coming too from the same dealership for the same price.
now... what should I put it in?

I used to know a guy that worked at the dealer ship and they would throw stuff like that away ,along with tranny's .Then he moved and I lost my inside connection. If you can get any more shoot me a PM. I'd be willing to drive to PA for a good price on a LS2

1. Camshaft position sensor
2. Coolant temp sensor
3. Knock sensor
4. ??? (Looks to be in the oil galley-oil pressure sensor?)
5. Crankshaft position sensor
6. Knock sensor

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

excellent, thanks guys.

I have to tear it apart. they said the crank had some grooves worn in it. hopefully I can just get oversized bearings and have the crank turned down and there is no block damage.

I wouldn't count on a ton of engines being supplied to everyone. I got VERY lucky with these.

ok I took the bottom end apart. got the main caps off and all the mains are in perfect shape! Oh I was so happy. I did notice something odd... it didn't have rods or pistons. wondered why it turned over so easily.

this was my first LSx teardown and I must say, this engine is worlds better than the LT1s I am used to.

heres some pictures:

so it looks like the crank will need to be turned down some. theres only minor scuffing.
can anyone tell what reluctor wheel I have? I was too stupid to check when I had it apart.

I think you have a 24x reluctor unless it is a very new motor then it has a 58x supposedly.
