I've have mine running for 7 months as a daily driver with zero issues. I have dynoed it and raced it at the track without any issues....my experience has been 100% positive! I'm just beginning the modifications to it now.

I just had a LS7 installed in my 97 C5. The engine is stock with 2 inch Headers. I want to do some more tuning and could use some help, but I have to find out why it keeps going into reduce power(1516) first. I'm going to try an upgraded TAC Module tomorrow. 98blackSS, did you use the LS7 TB and did you have any 1516 problems? Thanks for any help.

Yes, we're using the stock LS7/(LS2) TB. No problems with P1516 though. Just the expected P1514 code. Just needed to increase the table values for TPS Sensor Calc airflow (In HPt, Engine Diagnostics-General-TPS sensor-Calculated airflow vs. TPS vs. RPM). I just did a quick 50% increase on all values to avoid triggering REP.

Are you using the OEM PCM? What tuning software?

Yes I'm using the OEM PCM and LS1 Edit. I'm geting the 1516 after it warms up and idles for several minutes and also when slowing down at a stop light at times. Runs great if you don't go slow

That's when I saw it as well, but diff code. Check the pins & harness as per:

We did the pin swap before we could even start the car.
I'm going to swap the TAC Module now and will report back, thanks.

Looks like it's basically checking commanded vs. actual blade position.

Perhaps setup your scanner to log ETC desired position vs ETC actual(TPS)? Shouldn't even need to start the car. Pull your intake hose off and have someone watch the TB blade. Make sure it operates smoothly from closed to full open while someone operates the pedal.

I took the TB off and found the blade was hanging just a little bit. Filed the blade a little and smoothed it up, problem fixed. I hope the engine is a little bit better quality than the TB. Thanks for the help.

Couldn't agree more.. Shaun is a great guy. Met him at the LS7 plant tour in Wixom this past summer. We buy all sorts of odds and ends from him for our projects
