Thanks Chris.
Twice as much plus you have to buy all their covers the price won't even be close. The GM weighs more but who cares. If it was out right now I would sell my C5R block and buy that block in a heartbeat. Spend the $3000 you save from buying a Warhawk and you could buy enough cool lighweight **** to surpass the heavy block.

It's very flattering to see GM adapt so many important Warhawk features and we also appreciate that our LS7X head design will now work on a block other than ours.
Karlo, are you on the design team?
No wonder WJ spent so much time admiring our block at last year's SEMA...

Hehehe, yeah, many of the features that we use have been used on other race blocks. Pretty standard stuff.

WJ and the Engineers however designed a different bolt pattern for the 12 O Clock and 6 O Clock head bolts.

The World products head will bolt up, it just won't be able to utilize the extra head bolts due to the fact they are in different positions.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Where are the provisions for the LS1 style knock sensors? It doesn't seem they are in the valley cover area like a stock LS1 has.

Who need s knock sensors...

So I'm guessing gm is going to come out with some throw down heads for this block..I would be cool to see a c5r type head to slap on them that didn't cost your left nut..I'm super excited about this block..Any word on price..

So what would the max displacement be with the shorter deck version of this block?

I guess a 4.250 bore with maybe a ~4.250 inch stroke. I come up with about 475 CID in the same space as a stock LS1!!!
Am I correct?

March 2007... I wonder when it will actually be available.. :o

I'm still waiting on my L76 intake. I'm not sure there was ever a "supposed to be available in xxxx" for that part but it sure has been a long time.

4.25 is too much bore. You only have a 4.4 bore spacing on these motors, the saame as a standard LS1

Claim is 4.25 max bore.

Granted, for a poweradder i wouldn't go that far.

I would like to know why GM didn't tell the bean counters to and build all Gen III/IV engines. But at least they finally seen the light. And when is it really gonna be avail.

Introducing LSX: No Dream Is Too Extreme
Dream bigger. Because the new GM Performance Parts LSX takes the LS-series V8 to the ultimate extreme. Shaped from 50-plus years of V8 know-how and refined with the speed secrets of Warren "The Professor" Johnson, the LSX block was engineered to handle up to 2,500 horsepower, all for a price that will have the rest of the world wondering how we did it. Build your dream with LSX, available March 2007.

that is a quote from the website... well this means that the motor has made 2500 hp already or they shouldnt say it can handle it.... i just want to know the setup they used to get the 2500HP

i cant wait! will make some nitrous users very happy

So, does that mean that we will be seeing some aftermarket GM heads to match these holes?

Yes

I was not able to get that PDF....sorry. But someone posted the list of features and it is also on the gmperformanceparts.com website.

I heard a rumor that they would start to take orders in January sometime.

Again the target price is in the 2000 range. Lets just say that is a big range.

Hopefully it's in the lower end of that range

Also wonder if that's going to be a prepped block :dunno:

I sent a message to SDPC today requesting a position in line for one. I really hope these are actually shipping to customers in March, and not like this L92 stuff. Guess we'll see :o
