I wonder if they will offer a long block version.

Nice but only one piston choice, 3.8cc dish??? Going to make hitting a good DCR hard... If you already have small chamber heads (like mine) you are going to have to pic a cam with lots of over-lap to bleed-off some DCR...

Assuming .007 out of the hole, a .045 head-gasket, and 72cc combustion chamber you will have a static of 11.41:1. Your cam will have to have at least 47* overlap (no big deal) to have a DCR 8.5 or less. Not what I would call a flexible package (short-block). It will be something to watch and see if they offer more piston options...

Strange they have not made a formal announcement here on the forum about it..

Their write up says," We offer many upgrades for our short-blocks, and we will custom-build one for your application!" I would imagine that would mean they could change pistons if you wanted.

On another note, I too find it odd there was not a formal announcement. They're usually pretty good about getting the word out about improvements and new products.

You can get anything you want. It just requires that you pick up the phone instead of buying it across the web. In most cases, someone spending this much money is going to call anyway.

That setup is designed for the ls7 heads.

If your wanting to run a standard lx head we have several other piston options available...

That happens!

People are skeptical and bitch about presumed quality when things are "too cheap". I have sold several vehicles and engines for a considerable ammount more on the second go-around because i raised the price over the first time. Its like corvette parts, a lot of corvette owners wont buy patriot heads because they're inexpensive, and they "must" be cheap quality and have qc problems. Last time i looked AFR heads have valves falling apart. Sometimes the $ dont = Quality.
Id buy one.
But I already have one from somewhere else.

The price changed but you now get shipping & crating included... The blocks are 100% perfect & go through the exact same procedures all other TSP engines go through... Just because something is a great value doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.

This is intro pricing guys so order one for you & a friend!!

So shipping and crating are a wash. Are they new G.M. blocks or are they seconds?

well them and scroggin are the only 2 vedors that even offer a 427 budget short block and whats crazy is they are using a $3000 block. Totally kicks *** and makes me wish i have $6000 sitting here so i could just upgrade to the 427 over my 403. But then again the 403 has enough power on the street that it makes it tough to get traction as is. If i were to do this again a LS7 427 wet sump pieced together crate motor is what i would do.
