Default L92 Heads Or Ls6

Ok I have been waiting for L92 heads for 427 short block. With all the #s for cam heads intake etc my head is starting to spin. I been looking at Patriot Stage 3 LS 1/6 heads and cam with roller rockers. Heads are CNC chamber sized for 4.125" and flow 312 232 @ .550 2.08 and 160 valves springs valve job ready to go $1295. Cam 226/226 Dur @ .050 585/585 lift 112 LSA $280. Harland Sharp Shaft Mount Roller Rockers $380. This is for 6sp street car daily driver need reliability not track car. I want low tork power band not over 6500. With this setup I can use my LS2 stock intake LT headers cat back. I’m not big on the offset intake rocker on L92/ls7 and I can choose 1.7 or 1.8 ratio. What do you think does this make sense bang for buck? What about cam? Or should I wait for L92 heads TSP says ready next wk but….

If you go with LS6 heads, don't reuse the LS2 intake as others will tell you.

LS2 has LS6 heads what is wrong with intake? Is L92 intake better?

The L92 truck intake has longer runners which give you a better torque curve

What do you plan on putting this set up in? Because if you use the L76 intake, you might have problems on certain applications i.e. clearing the hood on vettes.

I don't think it's taller than a FAST 90.

They make two L76 intakes one for suv's/trucks and one for cars. Actually the truck intake is a better application for performance. It has longer runner which help with torq., but once again will not clear vette hoods, not sure about gto's or other applications. Hopes this helps.

OK I Just bought a set of stock L92 heads from Rock_Daddy and ordred L76 car intake. Now what Cam for torky street GTO m6 427? Will the
226/226 Dur @ .050 585/585 lift 112 LSA be a good choice?

You're worried about price on a 427??? It's gonna be expensive regardless. Buck up and get a cam with more exhaust duration.

IL be lucky if I only spend 2k on things I didn’t even think of but can you be a little more specific than more duration? I don’t know where to begin with these heads. I’m thinking get it all together and install cam last and wait for more info on this head 427 combo. Katech has a LS7 cam but really didn’t want to go 650 lift

I said more exhaust duration. With a 2.16 intake valve it's not gonna take much to have the engine make power to 7000 rpms. Along the lines of say 226/234 on a 112+2.

I have the cam you reference in my 402 GTO with 2.055/1.57 Stage II heads. Check my signature. My thought is that if you go with the LS7 or L92 heads then go with the cam. But, if you go with the 2.08 valve heads then go with a much larger cam. The 226/585/112 is much too small for a large cubic inch and stroke engine. I get lots of torque down low, but I sacrafice HP because of the small cam.

When I return from Iraq I'll probably replace the heads with the Patriot Stage III 2.08/1.6 59cc heads and go with a 240+/600+/114 cam. I want to maintain the FAST intake and I don't think I can use it with the L92/LS7 heads.

The large valves of the LS7/L92 will move more air with a small cam, but you can still go larger. My dyno sheet is attached.

^^^ Why do you want to reuse the fast, when the L76 flows better?
