Default Crankshaft Ls1 4" for LS2

Hi
Beside me question: possible use the crankshaft LS1 4" for Ls2 C6 05?
After all there another 58 reluctor wheel. Will it is correct to work crank sensor?
There is experience who answer.

It should work since, as far as I know, the LS1, LS2, and LS6 all share the same crankshaft from the factory.

yes, as long as it has the 58x reluctor wheel, or the reluctor wheel has been changed to the 58x, it will work.

i'm no expert but I believe 97-98 cranks used 58x, then switched to that 24x for 99-04 then back to 58x in '05

at least I think I read that..

Not exactly. the Ls1 and ls6 use the 24x reluctor wheel while the LS2 uses a 58x reluctor wheel.

So to answer the original question. No, the 4" ls1 crank will not work in a LS2 C6 unless you change the reluctor wheel to a 58x.

2005 LS2 and maybe some very early 2006 LS2's had the 24 x reluctor wheel.

When you order the crank make sure you order the correct wheel for your vehicles ECM & Harness.

You can order a shortblock with either crank sensor but you will need to let the vendor/sponsor/builder know when you order the motor which timing wheel you are going to need.
