Default Who is going to buy the new gm lsx block.

I was just curious who is going to snag up one of the new giant cube lsx small blocks. I think with these engines there will be a lot more 1000 hp lsx cars runnign around than there is now, not to mention some records possibly being broken.

I intend on picking one up as long as they are available when GM says they should be.

I'm planning on one. May have to wait until latter on in the year though. I haven't figured out if I will be driving, or trailering this car to the track yet. Running out of room for the toy's.

I here ya on the running out of room. They are suppose to be out in march i do believe but i have a feeling it may be a little tough at first to get your hands on one. Not everyday a smallblock can have 511 cu.

Isn't that the tall deck model? And I would suspect that won't be out in March. The short deck probably will be.

I am waiting for the aluminum model since I hate weight and don't use power adders.

I don't know what model specifically, but if you look at the gm performance site it says it will be out in march.

Even the short deck one will be some nice cubes. Once I get back to Iraq, that 1st check is to ordering a LSX block. Then some L92 heads, L76 intake.

I seen that Pkincy mentioned an Aluminum version is coming out later. Is there any truth to this?
If so count me in on buying 1 .

Going Warhawk.

Worth the extra $$ for the significant weight difference IMO.

The iron block will be able to handle so much power and abuse though, think i will run that and just shave as much weight of the front end as possible.

no, but i believe they said they will be removing material from some areas to make a lighter version, but it won't have the same HP rating.

The article in the newest GMHTP said that the project's engineers were working on an aluminum version of the LSX block. The article seemed to be an interview with a GM representative so I assume the information is correct.

Quick Reply: Who is going to buy the new gm lsx block.
