It is pretty incredible, isnt it? And for all those out there (L92 naysayers), I wonder how many other 500 RWHP cars are that civil.
We will be trying for the same type results on another 403. This time with cathedral ports. Customer request is the same; make it civil......

Thanks Scott. You really have to see it to believe it don't you. Now you know why I call it a "Gentleman's Cruiser" albeit a very fast one. A wolf in sheep's clothing.

Now. where did those C6 Z06's go....

Tune had to be dead-nutz on!!! No gas smell, no bucking, no surging, and cruised around at 1500rpm cruising in 6th gear...

What was the final DCR???

8.33 DCR - I originally planned on 8.47 but by the time the valves went in and the chambers cc'd they ended up 69.3 instead of 68cc. Probably some more RWT if that was bumped up but I can live with it.

Nice work Charlie. Right in there with my numbers on a 417CI.

I guess we didn't get the memo "these heads don't work". I'm sure yours will have the same drivability that mine does.

Congrats!!!!

I'd say drive-a-bilty, that cam only has 5 degrees overlap... SMOOTH.....

VERY interested in build info... 2 degree split is interesting..

I didn't say the heads "don't" work, what I said was the intake valve is TOO LARGE and they are VERY HARD to cam.

People also think the problem with the heads is in the intake, it is in the heads, that is what I said.

Some day someone might figure out a cam that makes 550 RWHP and 500 RWTQ on a 408 like some other heads do...but for now they haven't, and it will take a set of heads that flow as good as Charlies or better to do it.

Maybe I should send you guys my "coeffecient of discharge" spread sheet that I created in 1993, then you may better understand velocity around the valve....

That's a little over sensative. I would hardly call a 232-234 114 +2 cam a maxed out build.

BTW: It's not always about you.

The heads are lighter than a LS1 head...and don't hold head gaskets on the spray as well as a LS1 head does....

This behavior seems sooooooo familiar.
