Sort of. This is a new chapter in an on going development program with All Pro.

Wow, this thread is almost a year old now but I thought I'd continue on here.

Saturday, I'm going to take a run back down to Ed Hutchings to try a few more things on the engine. I was going to send the rockers off to HS to have the trunion's modded but I picked up a set of Yella Terra Ultralights for a little more. Ed recently picked up 9 RWHP with just the YT's on a friends 383 build. Ed recently installed a ported L76 intake on a GTO and picked up 10 RWHP but 20 RWT. I'm sure I'll end up with one of the new manifolds when they come out but wanted to try this for now.

I've replaced the repro wheels with some lighter CCW Classics also. Taking out the C6 shifter and trying one of the new MGW's, It's very nicely made and is getting good reviews.

As usual, we'll post up our results here. Let's see what the numbers are now.

BTW: I've got about 4k on the car since this build and it's been nothing but a blast to drive. No smoke, no oil usage just tire roasting fun.

Revived!

Anxious to hear what you find out on the intake. I am now using the LS3 which is ultra similar, and note like the L76, there is not much plastic to grind on. Also find a bit more torque and hp these days running a bit richer than we were aiming for back then. Still think the heads are the hot ticket in that we are getting square hp/tq #s even with larger displacement.

Sounds great-4000 miles problem free.

How much are they getting for the MGW C5 Shifter and shift ****??

From what I've read they are supposed to be well balanced....flick of the wrist shift?

I mean, the intake valve is almost what a BBC factory square port valve is (2.19) and those used to be considered BIG back in the day.
Knocking the intake valve size down .04 should make a bit of difference on both shrouding and reversion at intake close.... right?

I also learned that a short runner single plane style intake eats up overlap and kills reversion. Atleast that is what I have found with my 20 degrees of overlap with the 244/248 113+2 cam.

After reading your results... searching... and speaking with those that know... I have a feeling someone is going to recommend a smaller cam with more agressive numbers at .200 vs crazy duration numbers at .050.....

what I found really interesting is that comp suggesting keeping the same cam with the XER lobes and just moving it around to a 109 intake centerline....
