This is a great tool. I used is a bunch when specing cams. Just plug in the numbers.

Just realized this is a 6 litre motor. Forget what I said about running out early. The 6.0 will take a few hundred more RPM to max the L76 intake.

If you're talking about the calculator link - it works fine for me but you need to have Excel on your PC.

BTW: I just redid my CR - it's 11.44

A little more information...

I swapped out the Breathless Performance CAI I had on the car for a new Halltech Venom. It moves the MAF to the TB end of the air bridge and has the largest filter element I've seen. It made the car run SUPER lean - like 17.8-18.0:1 going down the highway. I added 10lbs. of fuel pressure to try to richen it up until I could get it retuned. Still not enough though.

I then put the old airbridge back on and moved the MAF back to the original position but used the much larger Halltech air filter on that setup. I was able to back 8lbs off the fuel pressure and I'm back to 14.7-15.1 cruising and a little rich at WFO. I haven't had it on the dyno or retuned yet but it's running great.

I think if I was running 02's and a closed loop tune the 02's probably would have handled the MAF relocation but I run open loop MAF.

Just an FYI,

Kevin

While your there you should lose the MAF and go SD, would be even better on the stroker.

Cheers

Where WKMCD lives they have emissions inspection, so MAF codes be no good, yo.
It has throttle response likes its SD tuned though. Kevin can attest to that.

Fair enough, I forgot you guys were so strict over there like that. I have spent a lot of time on a both a maf tune and SD. I noticed the difference when I went back to the MAF tune and it felt so different to drive around town. Even at low speeds, so of she came.

This is not a real technical post but I've been asked for some pics of the car. A friend's professional photographer brother asked if he could take some pics. We found an interesting place and away he went. The monochromatic Vette!

BTW: The are a few technical changes coming..

Using the shadows on the car...

And a pic of the engine to keep it technical...

Just a few internal things and repinning the PCM for a 2001 or so..... A manifold will go on when (if) Weind or FAST ever release them. I think I can bump the average power some.

One thing that won't change is Richard's killer Stage 2 L92 heads.

Time to bring it back.
This round of mods. Call it plan C?? We'll let Kevin decide.
This months round of mods include a cam swap (go figure) springs, clutch pedestal inserts to quiet the dual disc down. Wideband wired into the PCM with narrow band output.
99+ PCM swap. Dont let no one fool ya on the complexity, or time it takes.
Cam swap is done. PCM swap is done. No to make it run. Hopefully dyno numbers tomorrow. I would think Saturday by the latest.

I thnk Ed's one of a few people willing to take on repinning for the newer PCM..I may have a collectors item if he decides one is more than enough. Ed swapped out the AEM WB/guage for a PLX unit so we can use it as a NB also. Ed's going back to CL thinking we may pickup a little MPG. We replaced the Comp 921's with the new PAC 1521's. Great drop in and able to handle .700 lift and they are nitrited so they should last longer than the 921's.

This build - as before - remains a creative excersise rather than a max build and we're still having fun here..probably me more than Ed tonight.

There a not many people that I would trust to work with me on this ongoing "experiment". Ed is at the top of a very short list.

Let's see what tomorrow brings...
