Although I'm very pleased with the outcome, I'd like more punch on tip-in (now that the rear hop issue is being fixed) and more across the board, while keeping a reasonable civil level of driveability.

Could I PM you for some details/pricing?
I remember you and your car,i really liked it.Those CTSV's are cool cars.
Yeah, shoot me a PM and we'll discuss some stuff.

600 rwhp NA 427 that drives like stock? That is a tall order. I'm sure your persistence will pay off. Very cool of you guys attempting to take custom cams a step further. Different lobes, etc etc. Way to really match the cam and build 100%. Future builds are going to be even more impressive.

Great job as usual.

[QUOTE=Shawn @ VA Speed;13063696]Forced induction is the easy way out.My goal is to make 600rwhp while maintaining the same driveability as it has now.QUOTE]

Exactly. That's been the purpose of this car all along.

That's a great thing your doing Kevin, not only for your self but for all of us that have the L92/LS3 heads on our vehicles, I've read your thread from the beginning and it goes to show how good these heads are, Richard from WCCH has an awesome CNC program for these heads, they look fantastic. but IMO the real power comes from getting the intake valve events on the cam just right. either way you guys at VA SPEED are awesome...i wish i lived closer i would let you guys work on my cars anytime...but my Husband will kill me..lol

Yeah it's surprising how much power you can get out of the stock heads. I heard from VA Speed they are working on another LS3 427 with TFS heads. Would be interesting to see if the TFS heads compare to the L92s.

We'll see very soon.I think the 235's will make more mid range but fall off up top a little. But a little larger cam should even it up.

Where do you think the restriction is over the L92s? Kind of a bummer an off the shelf GM part flows better than a high dollar aftermarket piece.

That's been the point of my builds in all their iterations. Excellent power and drivability using the L92 heads and small cams.

Guess if you have a heavier car the TFS may be a better fit. I hear big heads/little cam or small heads/big cam is the fit? I have a heavy GTO so I typically like the lowend grunt to help get it moving. The 416 Shawn built got it into the 10s pretty easily. Would be faster if I went a different route on the cam but I didn't listen

the 235's have smaller intake runner and intake valve-the small port has better velocity which will make more torque and mid range power. The smaller port and valve will run out of airflow in the upper rpm range-that is where the large runner and intake valve on the l92's take over.

you got to remember one thing though-those l92's are anything but off the shelf-ported on the intake and exhaust, bigger valves, milled. They got alot of work done to them.

Before the L92's I had a set of TFS 225cc and made excellent power through an A4 with a 3600 stall converter and a cam speced by Kieth Black back in the good ole days but Ground by comp Cams with an aggressive XER lobe design.

I still have the TFS Heads and the Ported Fast Intake, they are Taking a Leave of Absence...lol

I spoke with Shawn yesterday after he'd been out with the car. He says it's just nutty. Super mild but incredibly strong. PERFECT!!!!!

I'll find out for myself tomorrow.
