I think the Brodix head project will have to wait until winter. I determined that the tranny doesn't like to shift under heavy load at high RPM. Tick master already in and adjusted and fluid is good. I'm going to have Ragtopws6 run through the tranny and add some Z06 stuff to the diff and install the RPM poly bushings in the prop shaft. Also changing out the clutch - again.

I feel your pain Kevin. It took me a long time and lots of work and dollars to get my drive line to be reliable and hold the power I make now! You're definitely on the right track. What clutch are you going to run this time?

Tuner I know down in Florida uses nothing but RPS clutches anymore after having had hell with Spec's. He swears by them.

Worth a try...

Picking a clutch for these things reminds me of watching my wife pick out drapes...You look around and consider everything 9 times, talk to everyone you know. second guess yourself 4 times and cross your fingers and hope the one you get is going to work for you.

It was the first and only one Shawn suggested....figured, it was good enough for me. Sent the tranny out today, so now I've got to locate a price on a clutch...

great thread, and great work...big kudos to Shawn et all for taking the time to document everything, it says a lot about how much you care about getting things right, and how much confidence you have have in your attention to detail and execution.

Thats one of the most balanced, well built Vettes that I seen

I have a question....this build seems to be an experiment began rears ago...technologies have evolved since you started out...and many of the questions that you had in your experimentation have been proven out over countless builds....if you were starting fresh now, what direction would you go in, what would you do differant based on whats out there these days?

WOW..I guess I should be on Plan J by now.

UPDATE: The car continues to run great. I've recently pulled the coilovers I had on the car and installed the PFADT Feather Lights. Tremendous improvement. They have about an inch more travel than the other ones so I can spring the car a little softer without worrying about bottoming the shocks. Ride quality is excellent and the car is pancake flat. I also had a Stage 4 M12 tranny and diff done. The differential now has some C6Z06 guts in it that are a lot stronger so I don't worry about that coming apart anymore. Also used Drive Shaft Shop poly bushings in the prop shaft.

Broke another YT a couple of months ago and I'm waiting on some new rockers that Crane is coming out with for the heads. I had da spare set of YT's so I'm up and running but confidence is low in them.

When I started this build it was a 403 with a 4.005 bore. Had I done the 427 with the 4.125 bore, I undoubtedly would have gone with some variant of the LS7 heads. I do think the tip in and low end RWT is probably better with the Stage 2 and 3 L92 heads from Richard than the LS7 heads.

To be honest, the fun for me has been in the build and now that the car is pretty much done I'm thinking of selling it and moving on to the next project. Haven't fully made up my mind on that yet.

Would you mind to share more info about those?

Hey Christian,

How's your beast running?

Shawn is pretty tight with the folks at Crane and he's been talking with them about a new rocker for the LS3 heads they are bringing to market. They are interested in my build for some testing. From what I hear they are part of their race series whatever that means. Shawn says they are a high quality piece and I trust him. The last I heard a week or so ago, the pieces were out for heat treatment.

I've lost confidence in the YT's and I'm reluctant to take the car on long trips until they are out. Should have the Cranes soon.

Thanks! Not much lately. This thing still uses not an ounce of oil and continues to run strong and smoothly.

I had a small oil leak in the rear so while that was being taken care of I had Rick throw some 3.90's in it just for grins. It makes 6th more usable and gives me a better gear at a few speeds. Also just makes it stupid quick.

Yesterday, I added a chin spoiler to the Tiger Shark nose. I have a hardtop coming that's molded off the FRC/Z06 top so dimensionally it will be identical down to the rear glass. Should have that in a month or so.

Hi there...

Big time admirer of the car and appreciate you're sharing the journey getting to where it's at.

Is the spoiler the a newer tigershark spoiler out there?
