I am really debating if I should go with the L76/ L92 head combo on my 412ci LS2, but from what I have been reading it sounds like there is still a lot to learn about what kind of cam this combo likes. I think this combo on a 400+ ci motor should be able to make almost 550rwhp if setup properly, but so far it seems as though many people are falling short of 500rwhp. What company is leading the race so far?

try Futral he has more combos then people know about. Many of his clients are street racers so their setups never get posted on here.

fastGBcamaro.
Easy way to tell if the L92/L76 combos are doing what they are supposed to is look at the PEAK RWTQ values.
On 427 don't know of many over 500rwtq with L92/L76.
However on 427 Fast 90/LS6 ported your seeing up to 535rwtq

TSP is engine dynoing a 428 with the L92/L76 setup with various cams, more on the extreme side of things. Once I hear from them tomorrow I can post the info on what these heads like. Most dyno sheets I have seen with this combo had mainly conservative cams. I have sen alot larger cams in 346's. That could be part of the problem.

Back on topic, forgive me please. Vengeance is getting ready to do a 441" L92 based motor for me . I don't know what cam they've got in mind but I gave them the parameters I wanted. Power to 7200 RPM because I want to use 4.33 gears. Max RPM 7500. 600 to the tires through my locked converter or at least damn close to that. I'm willing to run rediculous compression if that's what it takes. When speaking with Ron about this he seemed to think he had a handle on the cam choice to meet these goals. Anyone with cam questions on this engine combo should take the time to call Ron or Mike and talk to them. They really do know what they're talking about.

However from the comparison you mentioned above, the extra 36 Lbs of peak TQ, plus a lot more TQ at lower RPM's, will make a world of difference in daily driving. Torque rules from the stoplight provided you can apply your power to the pavement.
