Default 414 with l92 heads

I am getting ready to do a swap for my truck and I was wanting to do a 414 with l92 heads. Does the truck intake flow better than the l76 or does the l76 intake restrict flow and is only for limited space projects?

Richard at WCCH will be flow testing my truck manifold on a set of ported and non ported heads the end of next week.

does anyone know where i can get a 414 block?

edit: nevermind that was a stupid question. its just a 6.0 bored .06 over with 4.00 crank and 1.25 rod

I believe that the truck intake will not fit the intake port on a L92 head. You are going to have to use the L76 intake or maybe even an LS7 intake instead because of this. Also beware of the stock fuel rail fit. I've heard that the FAST fuel rail resolves this problem, plus it looks alot better.

The L92 intake is a truck intake. The L76 intake is the pass car style for the L92 heads.
I too would like to see flow data with L92 head and intake setup.

Sorry, I thought he he was trying to use the "big ugly" intake on L92 heads because he has a 2000 Silverado.

Even though he is using the correct L92 intake it is still just as big and ugly as the old ones. I'll be using it also but hood clearence isnt an issue for me.

The L92 IS a big ugly intake like the cathedral trucks. It just has the rectangle ports in the proper location to lineup to the L92 heads. It's what the Caddy Escalades are using. The basic layput between the two intakes is the same.

The L76 is what they are using on the L92 heads, 2007 Escalade.

This was the most rare piece of LS equipment in the country at the time these pictures were taken. The highly hyped L76 intake has been borrowed from a production Holden V-8. The L76 intake or PN 12590123, is what you need to match the L92 heads to your 6.0-liter Gen III/IV.

This is incorrect?
Understood from Holden K. I see big ugly still exists with rectangular ports.

that is correct, but the only reason the L76 intake is needed is bc you cannot fit the large truck intake on the passenger cars.

L92= intake being used on trucks

L76= intake being used in place of L92 due to limited space

Thanks for the clarification. I've been eye balling this for my LS2 stroker motor. Hate to sell the FAST 90 if I go with L92 heads.

I could have a 427 with 4.06 bore and 4.125 stroke. Can you fit a 4.125 crank with 4.06 bore into an iron 6.0 liter?

Use the 4.125" crank with this block, nice price.
What 6.0L block are you referring to LQ4 or LQ9? GM squaks about the wall thickness being maxed. Guys here have gone larger. Do a search, but the L92 is the answer for the money.

Yes you can as I had this exact same type of motor built for me by a tuner here 5 years ago. Just make sure the complete motor is BUILT by somebody who REALLY KNOWS what they are doing or you could have issues like i did with oil consumption and even my Callies 4.125 crank failing (but the crank issue should be a non issue for you) as long as the engine is built by somebody who really knows what they are doing.

You also need to get the ironblock sonic tested to make sure there is proper strength and cylinder wall thickness if she is getting bored out to 4.060! You are better off in my opinion sticking with a 4 inch crank for 414 cubes as i believe the motor will last longer from a longevity standpoint, will use less oil and will have room left over in the cylinder walls for a rebuild if ever necessary! 4 inch stroke has the best track record on LS series motors and that is why you see companies lik KATECH sticking to 4 inch strokes in their motors built for GM RACING!

Also, if you are planning to stay N/A i would stick with an alum. LS2 block or L92 block posted above for less weight restriction, etc.!
