My 427 Project A while back I decided to forsake FI and do a big inch engine for my C5. I did a ton of research and decided to do a 427.
I bought all of the parts from Corvette Forum and LS1 Tech sponsoring vendors. A local shop, RMCR, is doing the assembly work for me. Today I stopped by and the long block was just about done (no valvetrain yet). A picture is attached.
Tip of the day: I converted to a LS2 pan. The oil filter on the 07+ engines is different than previous years.

What exactly are you saying here??? There are fit/clearance issues???

The older style filter (like the K&N HP-1007) won't screw onto the filter nipple on the 07 LS2 pan. The threaded filter nipple is larger in diameter on the new pan.

I just Googled it and sure enough it is different. For the K&N filter up to 2006 it takes an HP-1007. For 2007 the filter listed is a HP-1017.
