What is the cost savings of a iron block + machine shop work compared to the L92 block?

Built L92 strokers are 5k.

I don't know if you can take the stock 6.0 iron block out to 4.065 bore for the l92 pistons. I remember there being alot of talk before about how far you could take the iron block out to.

I remember some 427 iron blocks floating around (4.125x4.060) but they had to be sonic tested before they were bored. Maybe someone else will chime in on this.

I would do a 6.0 Iron block with a 4.040 bore and custom L92 Wiseco Pistons..... I assume Hellfire etc make rings for such a thing. Going with a larger bore then 40 over on the iron block may not be totally safe and good for the long haul.

Don't forget to change out the timing wheel on the crank... but you probably already knew that.

My engine builder, which is Bischoff Racing engines, said they already sonic tested this block, and he was wanting to build one of the iron 427 for a customer, but he felt he would only go to .100 over the stock bore, and 4.125 would be a little much for that block. So i am feeling that i can do it, and that it would last. and yes i have already has the 24 tooth ring installed on my new crank...

anyone else want to put in their .02 ???
