1300rwhp
I want to do a large single turbo on a Warhawk block. Should I wait for the tall deck? What C.I./turbo size/heads would you recommend for this thing to make 1300rwhp and do you think it can be done on pump gas?

Launching!
Check out Nelson Racing Engines:

Pump gas with Methanol Injection might get close, but dicey.

I'd like to get as close as possible with pump gas. If she needs a little 101, so be it. I like the number 13. Especially with double nuts after it. Ya think a 101mm turbo feeding 454c.i. would do it? I want it to attain that number within reason. High boost, well that would just get silly.
Roll race nationals.. It would be fun to take to the salt flats though...

Whats the Budget???
Id say around $35-45,000....
Id say shoot for between 8:1-9:1 Comp... closer to 8:1 if your serious about the Pump gas staement....
A 91-94mm Turbo should do the trick.....
Now the tranny to take it...... Ya better not be still wantng a 6 speed....

If the pumps around you have E85 you could probably break 1300whp, I've seen dyno sheets where the car was boosted to 24psi on the stuff and with methanol and E85 (yea i know its sort of an alcohol car at that point) they hit 28.

Yeah...That's the budget I'm shooting for and I'm looking to have it done sometime in '09, no hurry...I think I can do it that way without my wife murdering me. About the 6speed, that's the one thing I'm hung up on. I REALLY don't want an auto. I planned to call Joe at T56rebuilds and see if there's ANYTHING that will hold it. If it has to go, I suppose it'll have to go though.

If you have the budget to build a 1300rwhp setup I would run a staged injection BS3 or just race fuel at higher boost to protect your investment. Not really sure why you would take a chance with that kind of engine when you really don't know what's going into your tank every time you fill up at the pump.
Also, a T56 with G-force internals would take that power, Vipers have pushed them much farther than that.

Uh, I think that 1300RWHP, or about 1500 Flywheel HP, might be a little much for a TH400, but I don't really know.
How about a powerglide with a Gear Vendors OD to make it a 4 speed?
Just a thought...

But why not just use a 16 injector intake. Run on pump gas full time and than when you hit the throttle the other 8 injectors automatically start spraying race gas from a stand alone tank to a 75/25 mix of race/pump gas at a preselected boost/power level. All on the fly.
