My L92 crate motor from ebay arrived!
I was skeptical buying it from ebay, but it showed up yesterday and is legit.
Brand new L92 crate motor as per 2007 Escalade. Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it. Dealer wanted close to 7k for it but I've got under 3100.00 in it shipped. Somebody even bought the next one for a little less than me recently. The guy had like 6 or 7 of them he was selling. 3 or 4 have sold already. He has some on ebay if anyone is interested, but now he starts them out at 2800.00. or Buy it now for 3500.00 I just figured that I'd let everyone know that it is legit. Easy way to make an LS3 clone for cheap.

I am guessing that there is already a thread on this next question, but what would it take to convert this engine to work in an older car? Or rather, I am guessing the aftermarket controllers (UMI, etc) don't handle the VVT, I have read that folks are disabling this system. How? What else needs to be considered?

Look like a great place to start a Drop in & fire up stroker replacement for an LS1,
nice with 4.0 or 4.1 crank with a 24x wheel, exchange the heads for some Stage 2or3's, Cam cam & lifter change, choose a manifold/ injectors / fuel rails

Thanks, but I might have misled. When I said older, I meant a 69 Camaro, so it'll have a stand alone computer anyway. I am leaning towards the UMI system, which is compatible with the various reluctor wheels, etc, so that shouldn't be a big deal. I am more interested in the internals that are specific to the VVT, I also think the oil pump might be different? Just want to make it all as easy as possible. I already have the manifold covered.
I read that it has a cast crank. It also says full floating piston pins, which is nice, but nothing mentioned about the pistons themselves, so I'd assume hyper-cast. Think this thing will live with a port job on the heads, moderate cam (i.e. less than .630 lift), and about a 6500 RPM limit? I'd guess that the rotating assembly is better than the older cast crank setups which were often suspect.
