You heard correctly: http://impalassforum.com/noncgi/ulti...1;t=012220;p=1 . The second one has the Lsx crate engine slated for 2008.

Thats a slick intake on there. Turbos dont look bad either. If the typical GM practice holds true, expect the longblock to be way overpriced and put out less HP than a builder would.

Also LOFL at the impala SS forum.

Easy boys I'm one of those Impala guys! But I have to agree there can be some pretty good verbal wars going on there.

Before you waited for GM to build an over price Crate engine why not buy what is offered today? Merlin 454 Cast Iron crate engine around 7K around 450 hp.

If that isn't enough hp how about 600 hp. on pump gas around 12K?

As much as I love big blocks, They would need to make around 50-75 hp more than those numbers to make them equal to a ls motor................................too much weight!!!

Besides 600 crank hp for $12 is kinda high

It's all relative. If you look at what is required to pass the durability testing from GMPP you would appreciate the value.

These engines also come with a warranty.
