Default stock 6.2 cam only

ive been told a few times to throw these shortblocks away and just use a iron lq9 block.

that any decent sized cam would smack the piston?

any insight on using stock block with stock heads and just a cam?

huh??? what moron told you to throw away an aluminum block with a 4.6 bore and a good crank???

and how does the block have anything to do with PTV clearance?

Since you are here in Michigan, can I have it if you want to throw it away? On a serious note, who told you that nonsense. Don't let them give you anymore advice on your build.

Its a 4.060 bore, bot 4.6 just for clarification. All it is in reality is a .060 over LS2. 376 cubes instead of 364. And the PTV would need to checked on any build.

l92 heads have a huge intake valve... with stock pistons, and a cam upgrade you're REALLY going to have to keep an eye on piston to valve clearance.

LS3s have the same PTV as a stock LS1/2/6

So if you have a 6.2 With L92s, unmilled, it will have the same PTV.

louis - i stand corrected. we recently did a 6.2 w/ l92 heads, and couldn't safely fit our SI6 cam in the motor, however, i just heard that the heads were actually milled .030"

my bad.

The vary reason I went with Diamond pistons made for the L92 heads so as not to ever worry. While I was at it I installed Scat H-beams. Now I can run a safe 300 shot of nitrous.
