Default Having A Few Issues With The New 402

I Just Got Done With My Tsp 402 Install With A Ms4 Cam And There Ls6 Heads And 92 92 Setup . Speed Inc Tuned It Made 492 Hp..

But I Am Having And Issue At About 5500 It Wasnt To Hesitate Until About 6000 Then Smooth Back Out .

Also The Noise From The Motor Is So Much Louder Then The Ls1 ... Matt At Tsp Told Me It Was The Lobes On The Cam Making It So Noisey . Just Sounds Little Off . At 6000 Rpm Its Make Whole Car Vibrate And 1200 To 2000 Sounds Like A Tick Or Loud Sewing Machine Sound.

One More Thing With My Tune From Speed Inc My Lifts Are Running A -9 Long Term
And Its Popping Under Hard Acceleration When I Clutch In .
Also Has Anyone Had A Catch Can Fill Up In About 1000 Miles It Holds About 10 Onces .
I Am Seeing Blue Smoke When I Get Into It Hard Wondering If Its Not Coming From Pcv System?
Seems Like I Get One Thing Fixed And 12 Others Go Wrong!

Assuming you broke it in correctly, the stokers need a lot of crankcase venting. At least that was the case in my build.

What are you using on yours to vent the crankcase?

Breather on each valve cover and then using the LS6 valley cover choke it down to a very minimal flow (1/8" npt check valve and flow control) through a catch can before routing back into the intake. At least that is the setup on my 416.

Blue smoke and all the other issues..... Pull the plugs and see if there is a large oil buildup on them.

Valve covers connected with 6-AN line and a filter on the oil fill and a catch can in the valley pan PCV setup. Are you pushing any oil past the rear seal?

i have a ls6 vally cover hole going to the catch can then from catch can into a small fuel filter then into the back of manifolfd ( back i mean behind throttle body! ... I didnt know you could use a breather and then a catch can into the intake i thought that would be unmetered air.....

I ran the stock LS1 PCV + the LS6 PCV with a catch can for each and that helped my motor a lot. It usd to push up the dip stick before that and spray oil. If you need more than that the other option is to drill holes in your valve covers and weld in some AN fittings and run -10 to a catch can.

Why wouldn't LS7's have similar issues then?

I would think that since they are dry sump motors, that may have something to do with it

Most of us are running speed density tunes now, thas why. Is there a hose connecting filtered air ,ie from the throttle body, to the valve covers still? Or is everything capped off except the valley plate hose connection?

I think a lot of us are running small filters on the valve cover(s). I am along with the PCV system in some configuration (catch can).

My motor hasn't been using any oil at all or atleast so far (only 1500 miles)... I put breathers on the valve covers and used the LS2 PCV system. I haven't had any problems so far and havn't had 1 puff of smoke come out of the exhaust (that I or my friends have noticed). I do notice that with the double springs I'm using it does sound like a Chinese Sewing factory but I have heard multiple cars with those springs sound like that.
I sure hope you figure this out.
