any suggestions,tips,tricks to getting the OEM water pump to pop off ?
the 6 bolts are loose,backed off about 2 turns,all hoses are removed,thermostat housing is off,fan assembly and radiator is out,intake up to throttle body is out,I got plenty of working room.
tried prying at both ends but afraid to pry too much to avoid damaging anything behind the pump.
I 'assume' the gaskets are 'well set/bonded' because of the 140,000 miles on the vehicle.
haven't tried big hammer/shock to break the bond.

Take the bolts out or @ least loosen to an 1/8" gap or so. Use a pipe & a sledge hammer or just the sledge hammer. Give it a good whack on the back side on the part that sticks up between the pulley & the tensioner mount. Could also spray it w/ a penetrating oil to help.

that was gonna be my next step,WD40 at the gasket points and shock hits,I've got large long brass rods( for rearend pinion bearing removal & insertion) to hit from as far rearward as possible. gonna hit the gasket points with WD40 and do some errands to give the fluid some time to penetrate.
just put it out there to see what kind of suggestions I was gonna get.

He sure didnt pay 6 figures for that actually. Its a sweet car didnt buy it to go fast. The wife drives it more than he does. When he wants to go fast hes got plenty of other cars in the stable to bring out you should know that by now lol

Wow look at all this excitement. I think the gtr is way overpriced, and overrated, however those wheels he has on it are worth more than my silver bullet lol.

Just got back from the Ohio Norwalk Pinks all out. All I can say is what a joke. Was hoping for a good time and was very disapointed. Summit did a great job on the track. But the way Speed ran the event was HORRIBLE! I'm now looking forward to the LSx shootout in the next few months.
