Thanks LS1-450. I was planning on pulling the Intake Mani anyhow to change the knock sensors. So I'm looking into everything then. Also is it possible to do a leak down at home. This is something I'm totally unfamiliar with unfortunately.

so apparently just one of my ignition coils went to shit and was causing a random backfire.... anybody have one just layin around as a paperweight that I could get or pay for you to ship to me? I crimped the spark plug wire tighter where it connects and its holding, but there's still a slight lag when I get on it

araber89, yes & a leak down test kit can be bought @ most local parts stores. You'll need a compressor though. If you don't see anything weird while looking @ the valves from under the valve covers & there's nothing in any of the combustion chambers, you can probably get away without the leak down test.

Kevin,I'll tackle it again in the morning when temps are cooler,I can't put up with heat,get heat sickness too often,I'm too thin and have no natural insulation.
As far as getting it fixed,gotta get the pump off and then put he cooling system back together. THEN put the front end back together,almost total disassembly to radiator support. while headlight assemblies are out,reworking/polishing lenses,cleaning 140,000 miles of dirt,cleaning rust and POR-15,found sand from 2004 florida trip from driving on beach at Daytona,found air lid clip that came off during 2007 florida trip,cleaning up engine bay a little.
Then,sometime,replace tranny,got 2 sitting in garage,but gotta decide which convertor to get first,gonna be either a CircleD or Yank but which version won't be determined until I decide on my next reargear ratio,currently 4.56,originally OEM 3.23,gotta choose from 3.42,3.73,4.10,have them already.

right now,gonna take a ride to Sheetz on the bike.
