Default New C5 Z Owner....

Hello All! Just a quick introduction of myself. Just purchased my first Corvette so I thought I would join your community here. I'm an old school Bimmer guy but have always wanted to have fun with an LSx motor. I went out and purchased a Torch Red 01 Z06 and I must say I am very happy and have already contracted the mod bug. Mods so far are Vararam V2 and off the shelf Comp Cam with a dyno tune. Next is Longtubes. I've had a few issues resolved by searching this thread and look forward to upcoming events. Nothing special about my car right now so I won't bother with pics.

Haha.. nothing special as in stock form with chrome Z06 wheels.(Which I can't wait to replace.) Car did well with what it had, 394whp and 373tq. I will post up some pics soon. Just changed out the hazard switch yesterday and cut up my arm because I chose the "shortcut" way.

Welcome. The mod bug will grow quickly. I've had mine for a year and a half, and in the process of swapping in a ERL 434 LS7. Personally I'd look into better headlights before any other mods come along. The stock C5 headlights are terrible. Radioflyer makes the best in the biz IMO. They're expensive, but well worth it. http://shop.radioflyerinnovations.co...lights-015.htm

Also in choosing headers, I'd look at Kooks or ARH 1 7/8".

Yeah, definitely need to upgrade the lighting. Ill look into those kits. Cutoff looks great, not sure about the housing. The less chrome the better. Ive been checking out the LG and ARH headers as well and hope to replace stock manifolds soon.

Ninja edit: just saw the V3 version. Might be the next mod.

My car has LG Pro stainless LTs with catless X into Corsa and it sounds sonic at WOT. It's a fairly tame and quiet setup at idle and lower RPMS for cruising or around town driving but around 3,000 and up, bystanders will think the sky is splitting.

Yeah, I picked up the black housings. They'll light up the night! Great thing about the Radio Flyer headlights is that the Bi-Xenon housing and bulb is upgraded over the stock ACA setup. LG headers are great early, but being that they use claps to fit up to the X-pipe, after a while they tend to leak. The ARH's and Kooks use a flange and bolt up to the X-pipe. Also, LG no longer makes them in the USA. They're made in China.

Agreed. I was looking into the Pace system paired up with some cutouts for when I want to get into stupid loud mode.
