Default Intro Another Bmw ls1 swap.. Kinda

Hi, Justin from CT here. Start with

the background. I had fun for a few years playing with this.

Then I picked up this 4.8 for a song
But I sold it because I wasn't willing to put the $$ it needed to be a quick truck. So I took the money from the sale and purchased a clean chassis e36 and a t56 and I'm going to start swapping. All tips tricks ect are welcome.
I do need a lil help for a clutch line if anybody has some insight I would appreciate.

so the 4.8l is gone with the wind. in the process of trying to trac down all the parts and pieces required to convert to a ls6 intake i stumbled across an ls1 out of an 04 gto with 50k mi. so for the purpose of mocking up power steering lines and heater core hoses it is currently residing in-between the frame rails of the bmw.

build status currently.
Fuel system parts have been ordered
still figuring out what i am going to do about the wiring and ecu (don't really want to attempt that myself)
arp flywheel, bell housing, pressure plate bolts have arrived.
clutch line was send out to a member for modification to adapt to the clutch master cylinder i have not purchased yet.
Trying to decide if I need a monster clutch (boy how I want one) or if I throw something more budget friendly in with the stock flywheel
Driveshaft and exhaust system I will worry about after i hear the engine crank over.

Nice work. I'm on the verge of starting mine up soon but I've been trying to get everything completely done before just starting it up now and then having to finish the car afterwards. Trying to shoot for startup and drive. Can't wait to have my e36 on the road and getting it!

I just went round for round trying to figure out why mine wouldn't start. Now that it runs I'm so relived, now to clean up all the wiring.

Are you using a swap kit by chance?

I am also using them, I am extremely unhappy with the headers, I wish I had made my own. Fitment issues everywhere

Really? How so? I'm a little tight on the drivers side on one of the abs lines, and the y-pipe is proving to be very difficult to mate to the headers as well.

Well there is almost no chance of not boiling the brake fluid in the abs pump. Also if you would like to change the starter with the headers installed you would need to trim/grind the block. Forget about using stock wires on the number 2cyl. And number 7cyl spark plug needs to be changed by Harry Potter himself.
