Default Hi from the UK - TVR owner

Hi all. I must admit I found this site through a link posted elsewhere regarding the Top Gear 'Vette review.

It seems to have got quite heated. lol.

Anyhow, you poor guys aren't able to buy TVR's in the US...

Check out the website:

http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/intro.html

And here's a pic of my car...hopefully attached. 0-60 in about 4.1 secs.

They are about $65,000 new. (Which is very good value for that type of performance IMHO).

I paid about $30,000 as it was used.

They are a bit of a bargain.

The interiors are lovely also...

Default Hello!!!!

Just thought I'd stick my first post on here, as it was started by a fellow "Brit".

Had a look around the forum and found it pretty interesting. I can see that it is a mine of information for anyone with an LS/LT motor.

I first heard of the site through a link posted about the Top Gear video and read the thread which became a bit....erm....heated!!!

I'm quite a fan of American cars and would love to own a Mustang 390GT as used in Bullitt (but without the dubbed soundtrack). Of the current crop of US vehicles, I would buy a Dodge Ram SRT10, because it's MAD and maybe one of the Chrysler ME Four Twelve if it ever made it to reality!!!

Before I go and do a bit more looking round the site, I'd just like to say that I think 1QWIKZ comes across as a bit of a bigotted, "in your face" ***** and I think that many of his comments just invite harsh responses!!
He might be a nice bloke really eh?

Other than that.....I'm out of here to look at big engines!!!

I think the body styling reminds me more of a Fiat than anything else.

I think they look fanastic, but at $65k new. I want v8 power for that price; not v6 power. Nothing wrong with that. The weight of the vehicle makes up for it but how is the gas milage? Welcome to the site!

They are V8's! 4.0, 4.5 5.0 (210, 240ish and 275ish real bhp (not TVR numbers of up to 320 fro the old Oldsmobile based ally V8's) bhp for the older ones only the Tuscan, T350 are straight 6's (still make 350 - 400bhp (flywheel). They weigh less than 1100kg (x2.2 for lbs) for v.fast in straight time - but more importantly round corners and out of them.

I remeber when I was a kid In the sixties in the heat of the hybrid day's A man named Jack Griffith imported the TVR and put small block fords in them. They were called GRIFFITH's A friend of my fathers had the lightweight version weight under 1600# It had a 350HP solid roller 289 in it. He used to twist axles of all the time. The car was a beast
EDIT went to the website If you look on the timeline at 1963 and 1966 you can see the car Im talking about
