Hey im Shaun from Mass i jus picked up a 00 Z28 i was just wondering how fragile my rear end is stock, do you think it would be possibile to run a nitto drag radial on the sock rear end as long as there were no red line drops and launches were done under 3000 rpms with the clutch being featherd

if its auto, you will have no problems

if its M6, don't dump the clutch, feather only...

what kind of mods have you done to the car??? if it is stock and you dont dump it everytime you leave a light or a stop sign, you should be good for a while. but I have about 115k miles on my rear end and I dump it every once in a blue moon. and take it to the track every couple of weeks in the season. but i have also seen a rear end blow up with no mods and only 6kmiles on the clock. only time and how you abuse it will tell. under 3k should last you for a while.

Just the free ram air mod so far, a whisper lid is on order and hopefully slp loudmouth and a 125 shot by the end of summer so i can try and run cloe with my buddys 03 cobra

on the flip side of whats been said ive known quite a few people that went a year or more of racing on tehs tock rear doing 7k rpm clutch dumps on ET Streets. one i know for sure was heads and cam and the other i know for sure was a 383 ls1. neither ever broke anything and only ended up replacing the rears because of not wanting to break something.
