Hey, finally joined, dont have an LS1, but i used to own a 95 LT1 TA. Currently have an 88' 5.0 GT but the LS1's always fascinated me and I appreciate them as one of GM's best engine/tranny combo's in recent history. Definitely fun to run. anyways, decided to join and quit

I may get one later, who knows. I did the F-body thing (95 LT1 TA, i was inspired to go 5.0 when my friends mild bolt-on pretty much kept up w/me)) , now im doing the mustang thing. In the mean time, it is fun owning a 5.0 that doesnt push over after 5500 rpm like everyone expects

I would rank my car slightly above the bone stock LS1, my point is that I always wanted a fox, unlike many, i like the way they look. I agree that mod for mod an LS1 would kill it, thats just not my point of owning it. Kinda like the guy with a DeLorean...slow as hell, but can you knock his preference? To each their own, I love the LS1's though. The only thing that kept me from them is the inherent flaws in the 99-02 LS1 motors (oil onsumption, actually have a friend in a vette club who's car at cyl. #7's piston and GM will not fix the others, just THAT piston, the LS1 is a great motor, just too many little things I dont like, that being said, i still love the F-bodies (and run-on sentences)

That is why i joined this board, unlike the rice forums, etc. everyone here seems to give a nice car its due, no matter the shape of the emblem on the bumpers. props to the board and members that make itthis way.

No, no S-trim, but from what I can tell its a pretty good match for an LS1. THe one and only time i got to race one it was very unfair, 02 LS1 vert Z28 from 60 mph, he guns it from 1 car back and i wait till he is coming around and = with me to drop into 4th (shoulda DEFINITELY BEEN in 3rd) and from there on he got about 5 cars 60-95-100ish. If he had not gotten his 20 foot roll up on me, and I had hit 3rd I feel the story would have been different. Only other car i ran was S2000 55-95 in 4th gear and pulled him (not by much though, again, 4th gear is the wrong gear, still learning the tranny/gear combo/new to stick). So i still think it should out-do most LS1's unless my impression of them is slanted???

go heads up with an m6 ls1 and you'll learn quickly what they are capable bone stock. you might get a jump with the 4.10's but even with your mods on the top end your done. by my guess your down at least 30rwhp on a stock ls1 even with your mods.
a bone stock ls1 will dyno 300rwhp 320rwtq +/- 10, and is capable of 13.2-.13.5 at 104 - 107mph with your average driver.
if my fbod doesnt start running like it should i'll be joining you over in the foxbod camp. cant beat them for cheap as **** and a ton of aftermarket..

JRP, 30 rwhp is almost exactly what I theorize that I am down by, almost enough hp to overcome my 3-400# weight advantage But as you say, i would LOVE to run an M6 from 60+ roll. When i get the chance for a fair race of the sort, I will post back with the results, I really am not sure, but it should be good
