Default black is the fastest color

hey there.live just south of pittsburgh PA im a noob to the ls1.. but not to the f-body. 3 years ago i owned a lt1 formula and then it was totalled. and took me 3 years to get back into another f-body.

in the mean time i put the lt1 into a sonoma and drove that for a while then got a SRT-4 neon and went 13.4 @100 then 13.4 @ 106 spinnin 1-2-3.

now i got a 99 Z-28 with lt headers, ORY, borla (lookin to sell for loudmouth), zo6 intake, slp lid,ram air thingy from bottom of car, lca, panhard bar,tq arm, zo6 cluth and new hyralics and the best of all 315-35-17 black ZR1 wheels. with nitto drag radials in the back and some kumho's in the front.
what you people thinkin for times... i can drive i would think hence the 13.4@100 in a fwd with stock 205 tires.

this is the car and wreck and page 7 i think has the sonoma and 8-10 i think have my srt and bike i use to have

This is very true, and also why the new ride will be painted black.

With the bigger cam of the 98-99 cars, the LT's, open Y, and Borla uncorked with a fair tune ... prob 13.0 at 110 ... if you hook. If you haven't tuned since the LT's and open Y, you'll be running waaay rich and losing svereal ponies, IMHO.

WELCOME! Do you have 315/30s in the front also?? You really have to "light up" Nitto DRs to get a decent 60' (in anything less than 60 degree air, at least), I mean 10 seconds+ worth of billowing smoke. But then you are risking your 10 bolt on any DR in warm weather. Anyway I did 12.5x @ 113.xx with minor bolt ons, Nitto DRs, full size fronts (275/40s), front sway bar on and connected and a full road race suspension and lousy stock clutch. So you should have NOOO problems doing similar times at a decent track (mine was at Atco in "good air").

BTW; my Z28 is black also, but I wanted silver. I just got the black cause I hated the Talon/Eclipse black roof look on a silver car (or any color other than black).

thansk for the intro everyone. i am gonna go to the track in less then a month. im goin to s.carolina on the 6-15th... then its time for the track. i was thinkin i could get a 12.6 the kid that owned it before got a 13.0 at 109 so i figured with that speed a 12.6 is capable. ill disconnect the swaybar. but will be full weight. and do a giant smokey burn out. and keep the AAA card close by just incase

From what I've heard, one might have to play with the backspacing, and absolutely "massage" the fender wells/lip. This is for the fronts, you already know what's involved for the back.
