Default Just bought another TA

Hey everyone. Just saying hi. I used to have a black 94TA I had for three years. Now its time for another.
I just bought a 99 TA off of some kid who didnt know much about what the previous owner did. What I do know:
* He was a performance tranny builder. Tranny has 52k on it. New torque convertor (not sure of size, but not stock) and stage 2 shift kit.
* Car was Trans Am. not WS6. Now has forced air, KN, and hood.
* QA1 12 point shocks.
* Not sure of what brand, but aftermarket traction bars. Tubular.
* I think the top end was rebuilt (possibly upgraded) at one time. I should be taking it to the track soon. I will post numbers.

Any advice or things to look for are appreciated. Check out the pics in my album and give me any advice or opinions.

Nice car.

I think those "traction bars" are lower control arms. Next, you'll need a torque arm, and with those shocks, your drag suspension should the pretty good.

Should post great times.

Torque arm is left to right with ball joints correct?

what did they do to the exhaust? looks like they welded a dummy pipe on the one rear tip behind the axle.

lol. Yes. Yes, they did that. lol. I keep telling myself that for some illogical reason I have more torque because of that. It helps the feeling until I can have it replaced.

No. I think you're talking about a panhard bar.

Go to BMR's website. I think on the front page they have a 3 minute clip of installing one. It connects from the center section of the rearend to the transmission. It's long, straight, and triangular. SPOHN has a pic of one (with a drive shaft loop) on their sponsor link thing to the right. The logo is white and the TA is red.

I'm just getting into suspension, but I'm doing it for a daily driver, not a drag car. LCA, TA, and shocks (and lowering springs for me, but not really for a drag car) seem to be the first big round of a good car. A ajustable PH is often needed if your car's rear kicks out to the right or left, I think, or, if you're getting fat rims in back. Some people say do subframe connectors (SFC) first, but they aren't on my list at all. I'm in the camp that says they make the car feel stiffer, but only add weight and offer no performance increases.

I've never felt the need for subframe connectors either.
I will be getting 08 Vette rims eventually. They are fatter than my current stock ones. Might want to consider that.
I was thinking panhard
