Default Newbie with 54 bel air LS1 conversion

I'm a newbie to the site but have heard some good stuff about it. I am installing a 2002 Camaro SS LS1 and T56 6 speed into a 54 Chevy Bel Air 2 door HT.
I put an updated suspenssion in it ,power 4 wheel disc brakes, a/c, power steering and a miriad of other upgrades. It will look almost as if it came off the assembly line other than lower stance and 17 inch steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps. But there will be very little about the car that will make it act it's age.
I have much of the fab done to the car but will need info pertaining to the conversion. Like Neccesary fuel pressure and pump gpm. Wiring issues, what all sensors I will need and what I can **** can. Whether or not I should get rid of any of the sensors. I want it to run as efficient as I can get it but would like to get rid of as much as I can as well. "with gas prices it is becoming more and more important for efficiency"
I am new to the LS motors so any other info you could give me would be much appreciated.
I live in Oregon but am heading off to work in Africa for a couple of months as of 06/15. I'm going to try to compile as much info as I can while at work and get the car dialed in as soon as I can when I get back.
If you could e-mail the info to me it would be even better, although I don't know how much internet access I will have yet working offshore in Angola:-)
Thanks a lot in advance,
Brian

Holy crap that thing looks rough! -but it looks better with the LS1 in it ha ha. I'm sure it will be awesome in the end though. Good luck with the swap and restoration/modification!

Deffinately looks like a project, There are some more of these early swaps going on, so look around and ask questions.

Here is another shot of the 54 and a couple shots of my 57 Rambler. I saw this about a month and a half ago and thought "this is so uncool it's cool". The guy needed money and I picked it up for 3500.00 It is all original, runs and drives well, and has a solid body other than needing some work on the floorboards.

I am planning on leaving it look the same as it does with faded paint and the luggage rack but turn it into a tuner. It has been lowered and I will keep the same stance.
I'm looking for a wrecked out late model Nissan 350z doner car or something similar to use the suspension and drivetrain. I know most LS1 people won't care much for that swap but I think it will be cool.

Default Back working on the 54 after a long time sitting.

Well, life got in the way of finishing this project.
So this year I finally got back to work on it. Hope to have all the mechanicals functioning next month. Then I can blow the car back apart to prep it for paint.
