Default LG Motorsports is pissing me off right now...

So I went and ordered an LG Motorsports 4 point strut tower brace, about two weeks ago. It finally came today, and initially, I was concerned. The paint is chipped, especially on the bottom of the plates, so it's obvious that this has been used before. It came without nuts or instructions, but I was like hey, it's a ******* STB, how bad can it be. The paint is chipped, especially on the bottom of the plates, so it's obvious that this has been used before. So I try to put it on and the first thing i realize is that there's no point under the windshield to bolt the top bracket to the car. I would be okay with just that except the whole bar is too long. And It's impossible to wiggle it in because the braket on the top of the bar hits underneath the windshield. So either LG Motorsports gave me a **** product or my chassis is flexed inward by an entire inch, which is just not true.

I just installed an Edelbrock STB which is similiar to the LG 4 point except it has plates on the end that you bolt to the shock tower, then the bar bolts to that, one bolt on each side.

THEN THERES THE FIREWALL MOUNTING POINT
It says to use an angle drill to drill holes from the underside. There is no way, it would be a bitch even if the intake was off.

I took the wipers off and the panels around them and drilled through the top, had to make a 1" hole for access near the center wiper mount just to get to the area that needed to be drilled on that side. This one uses a plate with nuts welded to it that sits in the area of the wiper linkage. Then getting the bolts under the cowl and above the intake was another bitch.

AND it also had marks of someone attempting to install it when I got it. Apparently they weren't up for the challenge.

If you insist on using this type of STB streetsideauto has the Edelbrock for $119 shipped.

This. It has been proven that they do nothing for the rigidity of the car (or very, very little).

Yeah, I called to say I was returning it. I really don't want to drill into the firewall just for one mod. I was considering just asking to trade it in for their 2 pt, since they offer one at the same price, but the guy on the phone was being a real dick, so I'm just sending it back (and obviously I'm going to have to pay the shipping).

I'm sure with some minor tweating you should be able to mount the 4 point stb and forget about drilling holes. But if you don't have the finesse send it back and get you a 2 point.

I like how 3 point Edelbrock is mounted but like all have said all stb do little.

I got so friggin sick of my Edelbrock 3 point version that I just cut the rear plate off. Now it looks like a 3 point but acts as a 2 point.

******* thing is a pain in the ***. The rear bars wont hardly clear the auto trans dipstick. It puts the dipstick in a major bind. Also, there is a plate that has to go in where the windshield wipers are. It says to rtv it so next time when you remove the STB the plate wont fall down. Well guess what? The first time I pulled it off the damn plate falls down. So I said **** it. When I put it back on I just didnt retrieve the plate. Well then I had some vibration coming from the firewall And the bolts are close to impossible to loosen and tighten when installing the bar. Drilling the holes originally wasnt fun either. Its just not a practical design.

Just a follow-up. I sent it back, and according to the UPS tracking number, the bar got there this morning. Still, I have not received a refund. I'm calling them again if I am not refunded by Thursday, because this is ridiculous.

I paid for more than new. I paid a luxury fee for the additional point for more stability, and it didn't even fit in the normal location. They told be to lift the car by the K-member until the chassis stretched out enough for me to pop it on. That just didn't sound right at all, and guess what? The UMI bar that I just got in the mail fits PERFECTLY.

Lol, what? Anyway glad you got the STB. I have one on my '97Z Vert and I swear by it. You used to be able to see the door mirrors and the dash wiggle and shake because the chassis flexed so badly. With the STB that shaking is gone...

Yeah, I haven't driven it yet, since it's 9:30 and I obviously have nowhere to go.

It's been three days now that they've had it, and I still haven't received my refund. I'm calling them as soon as I get off work.
