Default Car Issues

Has anyone had any water leakage issues??

My 07's carpet is wet on the drivers side. The dealer washed it today after they replaced a bad gas cap I had....and I found a big wet spot under my floor mat.

I looked under the car and I think it is coming form the drain hole in the floorboard right under the drivers feet.

Also my leather seats are pitting, wrinkled and are actually cracking...I use leather wipes on the seats once every 2 weeks or so...do you guys think I could get the dealer to replace the driver's seat?? Got 3K left on the bumper to bumper....thanks guys/gals

I have heard of some monte owners having the problem with the leather seats.

Get the new seats and when you do use Zainos leather in a bottle.
I use this after I come back from a cruise or when I go to a show
It gives a lot of moisture to the leather and keeps it new.

Those look nice...the dealer is taking my car in tuesday, they will look into the leak and they said a new seat isn't an issue if they agree.

Use something with Lanolin in it for the leather. Zaino and Mothers is good. Armor-All is water based and dries out leather; especially if the sun hits it.

I use a cleaner/conditioner in a spray bottle from Meguiars. Don't do it often though, usually in the spring or early summer and then I do them again in the fall. Haven't had any problems with the seats yet in 2 years.

I use Lexol. there are to seprate bottle one is a mild cleaner. It mild because it isnt as harsh as saddle soap. But it is still very good and removing deep down dirt and grime, THen a seprate conditioner. That stuff has brought back sun hardened leather.

X2 on the Zaino...I'm with Mel. That's all I use on my Montes.

The water leakage might be du to the weather strip/seal near the cabin filter. Did they replace it recently?

Although this wouldn't cause water on your floor, I was leaking water from the top of my drivers door back by the b-pillar. They had to adjust my door.

the drip channel that runs to that hole might have rusted out to the inside (because that hole is easily clogged with debris). Check after the next couple heavy rains and see if it comes back.

That channel is a bit rusty, but the water is right under my feet...so I have no clue where it is coming from...the cabin filter has not been changed.

The car goes in Tuesday, so I guess I will know more then...I hope it is a quick fix and that my floor isn't rusted...

What I'm concerned with is the water that is leaking from my headliner and running down my windshield on the inside of the car, leaving a milky white residue. Anyone know whats up with that?

The dealer here thought that the leak was coming from the sunroof as well....even though nothing else is wet and only the driver side floor is damp.

The seat will be fixed but will take 2-3 days, and had to go to a different town. My g/f was out running errands and saw my car go past her, so she followed him and the young kid punched it up an on ramp onto the highway, lost control due to the torque steer, and almost hit a retaining wall. He then corrected and punched it up to 95. My g/f hung with him and he was weaving in and out of traffic...he finally slowed down when he noticed her in the mirror.

So should I call the dealership about this??

Yes It went to garber, I have very bad luck with them...this car is starting to make me nervous...I don't want to get the local dealer against me, but Graff is looking better every time I go in there.

I know enough people who work at garber to know that they're not going to screw me , so I'm lucky in that regard, but they do have some young punks working there that I really wouldn't want touching my car. good luck.
