This workaround is only necessary if you don't have the MPVI Pro interface. If you have it, the Wideband plugs into the interface directly, no need to splice into the vehicle wiring harness.

I was about to send mine in too for upgrade, but if this works, no reason for it then. Let us know if you try it before I get to it.

I have it through the egr on my car and I love it, never heard of the a/c one. I know it's a different engine but it's the same concept.

I have mine wired into the aux out from my LM-1 box. I unplugged the egr and tapped the LM-1 aux output into the correct egr wire. Deleted all the codes associated with egr. Scan for EGR voltage (wideband) and use a formula to convert volts into a/f ratio. Then I had to add timing because when you disconnect the egr it pulls tons of timing (at least on the 3800 it does). That's basically it, I also have it hard wired into the car so it automatically starts up every time I start the car. Basic version FTW.

LS4's don't have EGR valves on the exhaust system, the stock tune already has the DTCs for EGR disabled.

You may have to run the wideband output directly to the ECU pin that would have had the EGR valve, since there probably isn't anything in the wiring harness....

Just a little update. I hooked my wide band up thru the narrow band. Works good but a little jumpy. I'm getting my tune pretty close, but I'm going to try the egr hook up later. I think the 5v input would really smooth it out.
Can anyone verify EGR pin# 55 gray connector?

Another heads up. EGR a no go. After tearing into the J2 plug an doing a little wiring, I couldn't get any reading on the scanner. So I do a little research on HPtuners forum, and you need to enable the EGR with the editor. I can't find it in the stock tune, but even if I did I'm running 2 bar OS, and HPtuners did away with the EGR on the 2 bar from what I can tell. So anyway, more than one way to skin a cat. I'll **** with it tomorrow. Oh and on a side note if anybody digs into the J2 plug on the pcm-DON'T TAKE THE BOTTOM OFF! That was a two hour detour I could have done without.

Thanks for digging into this! Too bad we can't use it. You went SD too?

Ok logging thru AC. Need to fix voltage offset but it works. If you looking to buy HPtuners get the pro. If you have the standard this will work.

Ok tapped into A/C, on my car had a black, gray, and red with black wires. I tapped into red w/black.
I set up the wideband 0v 10.5 afr 5v 15.5 afr.
[PID.7101]+10.3
With that set up it read 10.3 to 15.3 afr. Its a little jumpy but alot better than logging thru the narrow band.
Hope that helps Brian

Sorry to resurect an old thread, but I'm working on wiring mine up now and can't find the A/C pressure switch. Also, how did you route the cables into the cabin? Only grommit I can get to seems to lead me nowhere.

Thanks!

The a/c pressure switch is between the trans and frame rail. Right under where the stock air box would be. I routed every thing thru with the shift cable.

Thanks, I found it shortly after i posted. Took me a while to route the cables, but everything is running good and I'm actually done tuning!
