Running rough after a rain storm
My fathers GXP is running pretty bad and has developed a CEL. Along with the CEL, the motor is running rough and the idle is around 500rpms.
This happened after he was stuck driving all the way from work in a massive rain storm and got the pcm (is that it?) that's located in the airbox.....any suggestions?

How can I check codes without a scanner? He mentioned this happened to him before when he went thru another freak storm a month or so ago. After a few driving cycles it went away. The car ran 110% yesterday before the rain.

Take it by advance/auto zone and have them read the code. Might might have zapped the MAF or something. A code would be really helpful.

Back to the OP... So you didn't get the code checked? Has it come back? Did you check the filter? Running rough could be many different root causes. Can you provide any more information?

I disconnected the battery for about 45 minutes and started it back up and it seems to be fine. Yesterday when this happened the remote starter wouldn't work either. Now everything works. No cel, no low idle, and remote works too.
