No problems with mine. Sold at 24,000 miles, traded for 2011 Chrysler 200 3.6 V6.

I saw on GMI that you had done that. Any pics of the new car?

Don't add me to the list but my car is very slow at going into 4th. Sometimes I have to tapshift it into gear. It has done this since 30,000 miles or so and I now have 52,000. It's kind of cool riding out 3rd for a little while. lol

I'll probably pull the dam thing out this summer and rebuild it myself. Gives me an excuse to buy some more tools! Besides, I plan on keeping this car till I kick the bucket.. I'm not getting suckered into payments anymore and I have a lot of good memories. I might be the only one on this site who actually loves my car!

You can add me twice. Bought a 06 silver gx with 28k in Dec. of 09. With 40k, it started to slip between 3rd and 4th at highway speeds. Drove it for what it is, but not like an idiot. At 45k, got t-boned and totaled the car. Then, picked up an 06 black gx with 54K 2 months ago, and now the 1st to 2nd shift has a mild shudder at WOT. Partial throtle 1 to 2 is developing into a bit of a thunk shift, if you know what i mean. Love the car, bought it twice. Pissed at GM cuz they did alot of good things with this car, but a weak trans? Reminds me of the crap that KIA pulls.

Mine is going to need some work. 1-2shutter at WOT, hangs 1-2 when under part throttle, and it's hard to explain but it feels like it's driving through the convertor. I add more throttle and the RPM's stay put and it doesn't accelerate unless I go over 1/3-1/2 throttle and it'll down shift and go. It's not every time but enough to be notable. The 2-3 isn't much better on occasion as well. Guess I shoulda done a little more research on this thing before buying. It's like my GTP all over again.

Ok, I'm back on the list. It goes slip-bang from a stop. Getting a certified transmission wouldn't do me much good with the power I'm making. I'm saving up for a TEP tranny. Do you guys demod for certified transmissions though?

who did your trans, dealer?

I want a TEP trans, but I cant pull my trans myself, I dont have the tools nor space to do so, and the guy I was gonna have do it doesnt want to sit on my car and wait for my trans to go out, get rebuilt and come back, I need to find someone to help me pull it/have space for my car to sit there for a week or two, im probably gonna have to rent a truck and drive my trans 3 hours to TEP......

08' GXP, transmission on order at 60k miles. 1-2 band is acting all kinds of strange, car is dropping out of gear without foot on the gas at the high end of 1st and 2nd gear. RPMs drop straight off, once you hit the gas again it slams into gear at about 3500 RPM, engine braking is non-existent in either gear. 2nd gear at highway speeds also drops out of gear without throttle input. going from 3rd to 2nd in tapshift without foot on the gas also drops the car out of gear, reengages with gas at similar rpm 3500 ish.

Welcome to the board. I've added you to the failed list.

A remanufactured GM trans (which is what they give you under warranty) is just as likely to fail as the original. Please check through these forums and read about what it takes to make these transmissions survive in a stock vehicle, let alone adding another 100 HP on the spray. Your guaranteeing yourself nothing but trouble if you ignore the experiences of the 140 or so people on this site who've experienced trans problems, as most of them were either lightly modded or stock.

A wise thing would be to contact Dave @ www.tripleedgeperformance.com and see what he recommends for your application.

Good luck to you!
